Our goal is to have economic equality in our community. If everyone were to have equal pay and help to support those less fortunate to receive financial stability. This goal relates to the UN’s goal to help nations work together to improve the lives of poor people, to conquer hunger, disease and illiteracy, and to encourage respect for each other’s rights and freedoms.
Our Plan of Action:
We plan to volunteer at a homeless shelter and provide the members with small goodies, including baked goods and possibly light toiletries. We hope to bring change, despite the size of the possible impact, and help to diminish inequality in the economic branch.

How does economic theories like Capitalism & Communism impact or cause global issues like poverty?
Capitalism can cause poverty because it is all the trade industry controlled by private owners rather than the state. Communism can cause poverty
Which economic idea is better: communism or capitalism? Explain why.
Communism is a more efficient way of handling economics in todayʻs society. Each individual works at their own pace, length and strength of labor, thus earning their (what should be) fair wage. To earn the same as another for a different type of work is unfair.
Does Capitalism still work? Does Capitalism cause poverty? Or social injustice?
Capitalism doesn’t work when goods aren’t traded in for money or value. Capitalism can cause poverty because it is all the trade industry controlled by private owners rather than the state.
Who is / what is Karl Marx economic theory & what did he say about capitalism?
The labor theory of value, decreasing rates of profit, and increasing concentration of wealth are key components of Marx's economic thought. His comprehensive treatment of capitalism stands in stark contrast, however, to his treatment of socialism and communism, which Marx handled only superficially.
As a result of World Wars I & II, how did the Cold War period and a renewed focus on capitalism & corporate businesses perhaps contribute & set up your particular global issue?
The cold war and a renewed focus on capitalism & corporate businesses contributed to our global issue “economic inequality” because these big corporate businesses who use capitalism take advantage of third world countries who are in poverty to get goods for very low cost and sell it here in America. We also contribute to poverty because we buy these cheap goods from corporate businesses.
Through a global lens:
China is racing to the top of economic inequality, rapid technological change and industrialization have boosted demand, and therefore incomes, for highly skilled workers. Differences in incomes between urban and rural areas are another major factor. While China has implemented policies to limit inequality – such as raising the minimum wage and the minimum threshold for income taxes on multiple occasions, abolishing agricultural taxes.

Modern warfare & economic inequality:
It affects the economy by taking an unreasonable amount of money from deserving people. The fact that people have to pay for warfare that many disagree with, via taxes already cost a lot of money. Adding the fact that they still have to pay for their own personal resourceful needs, it leads the people to being broke or of a lesser class. Being that a portion of taxes being paid goes toward aiding the people affected by the USʻs military decisions and actions is unfair, taking an abundance of money from our people. This leaves them with less than deserved, thus leading it to be harder to make a living, and creating a larger gap between the lower and mid-income people.
