Personally, I feel decolonization is worse than colonization. These feelings mostly come from the fact that new countries come into new lands and strip them of their culture etc. Colonizing countries impose their culture on the native people; this results in the natives losing their previous identity. When the colonizers leave or decolonize the area, the native people are left in poverty not knowing who they are and how to live. This affects the Kahiau project because homeless people tend to be main litterers in the community. If there was less poverty among the native people, then the lifestyles of these people would change. |

I am passionate about addressing ecosystem problems such as pollution. The united states suffers from contaminants like plastic and fossil fuels in its natural environments. Hawaii is an island that is reliant on its ecosystem to survive and has polluted oceans surrounding it. This affects the goal of life on land.

Aloha, my name is Andrew and I am part of the group NO quitter ON litter. I am in 10th grade, love playing soccer, and enjoy going to the beach. Coming from a Hawaiian background, I feel it is my responsibility to take care of the land because it is like a family member to me.
