The plan for this winter break was for our group to go to the conservation international services and we will be restoring coastal habitats and traditional fishponds. However, throughout the break we haven’t met up at all and kinda did our own things. Therefore, instead of doing community service, I had sports such as baseball and football practice. Other than those practices, I had been sleeping or babysitting my younger siblings throughout the whole break. So, you could say that I haven’t been productive toward this project during winter break. As I haven’t been doing anything throughout the break, there wasn’t much to say went so well. However, as each of us went through with our break we had fun just doing our own kind of thing. Therefore, there were so many things that could have gone better if we went through with the plan that we made. Also, there was nothing that had been done to compensate for the unfortunate situation we had been in. My understanding of poverty and the other UN issues have been improving a little bit because of the knowledge that I learned throughout the first semester. Currently my connection to leadership skills are expanding in the ideas of mālama and kōkua which means helping and taking care of the land. However, the application to these skills were not yet put into motion because of the fact that my group had not did any community service yet. For example, throughout the break me and my group members were participating in other things whether it be sports or not.
