What progress have you made on your project? Progress that we have made on our project is that we passed out food and water to the homeless people at ʻAʻala Park. Then now we are just finishing up our presentation and updating our website. With the majority of the project being done, why is my action research topic important for modern Hawaiʻi? Our research topic is important for modern Hawaiʻi because we have a really high percentage of people in poverty. Along with that, we have the number one percentage of homeless people. What kind of leadership skills must I continue to develop & apply to be a 21 century leader in my community? Leadership skills I must continue to be a 21 century leader in my community is to help out when I see an issue and to have good communication skills. What skills have I learned how to apply as an impactful leader over the process of this project? Skills that I have learned to apply as an impactful leader over the process of this project is to make sure we arenʻt procrastinating and to make sure weʻre managing our time well. What can I do better for my next vlog update? Something I can do better for my next vlog update is to talk more clearly so people can understand. Are there any changes to the plan? And there isnʻt any changes to the plan :)

With the majority of the project being done, am I where I need to be to present by the end of April? Yes, I feel that I am where I need to be to present by the end of April because my group finished our project but we just need to finish making our presentation. What kind of leadership skills have I learned in order to be a 21st century leader in my community? Leadership skills that ivʻe learned in order to be a 21st century leader in my community is how to help others in need because for our project we were able to feed the homeless and make an impact in our community. What connections do I see in my global community that I will continue to help in my local community? A connection that I see in my global community that I will continue to help in my local community is homelessness. What obstacles have I overcome to be an impactful leader in my community? An obstacle that I have overcome to be an impactful leader in my community is procrastination. Procrastination was definitely something that we faced during this project because in the beginning we didn't really have a plan and it kept changing but at the end we were able to pull through and complete the project. What progress have you made on your project? Progress that I have made on my project is that we went to Kasons house and made over 100 hot dogs to give to the homeless people at ʻAʻala Park. Along with that, we bought chips and water to give to them as well. After we were done making the hot dogs we drove down to ʻAʻala park and passed them out. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS JIC :)

Progress that we have made is that we turned in our permission letter to PT asking if we could sell the free dress tickets and now weʻre just waiting for her approval. What kind of leadership skills are needed to be a True 21st century leader in my Community? I think a leadership skill that is needed to be a True 21st century leader in my Community is perseverance because if youʻre facing a roadblock you need to be able to persevere and push on in order to solve the problem. What connections do you see in my global Community that you can address here in my local community? A connection that I see that What obstacles have i come across to being an impactful leader over the process of this Project? What can i / will i do to be better for my next goog Update? Progress that my group has made is we went to PT and asked about the free dress tickets and are in the middle of writing our proposal for her, so hopefully we will get that to her by the end of the week. Are they any changes to the plan and what specifically will be your next 3 steps for the month of February? There are not any changes to our plan and our next 3 steps for the month of February is to turn in the proposal, sell the tickets and hopefully do another type of fundraiser to raise money. How does globalization affect the human focus recipients of my project? Globalization affects the human focus recipients of my project because it will hopefully help the children in poverty get a better future in life and get out of poverty because its not their fault that theyʻre in poverty because theyʻre just kids. Who are they and then why? The human focus recipients of our project are kids in poverty in Hawaiʻi because they should receive a chance of having a better future because itʻs not their fault they were born into poverty. What progress has your group made? Progress that my group has made is that we asked Mrs PT if we could sell free dress tickets at school for $3 and she told us to make a proposal for her to show to administration. So hopefully we get it approved and we are able to sell the tickets. My questions & answers (just in case) :)
What progress have you made on your project? Progress that my group has been making is we have been asking our friends and family for donations. How does poverty affect Hawaii? Poverty affects Hawaii because we are ranked #1 for the number of homelessness and thats has a lot of people on the streets without jobs. Were they any changes to the plan? No there wasn't any changes to the plan :) This is what I said just in case you couldn't understand me HAHAHH
What did you do over break? Over break I didn't really do anything but thats going to change this month because me and my group are actually gonna start getting things done. What are your plans for January? This month me and my group are going to ask the office if we can sell free dress passes for $2 each and use that money to donate to our organization. What is our topic & Why is it important to do action-research on? Our group topic is poverty and I think that its important to research poverty because I feel that its something that people overlook and don't really help. Also because like in our project it can help many kids have a better life in the future. Who is our group & what at is are the steps we will execute for the Kahiau over the Winter break? My group is Nalani, Kason, CJ and me and the steps we will execute for the Kahiau project over the Winter break is ask our family members and friends for donations. What have I found challenging about this project so far? Something that I have found challenging about this project so far is staying focused because its a long-term project so I have to make sure I don't procrastinate. What do I expect to learn / get out of this project? Something that I expect to learn or get out of this project is being able to be a better caring person and someone who helps take care of the community. Who am I tapping for assistance in my community or at home to get this done? Someone thank I'm asking for assistance at home is my family so we can all help ask people for donations. |
