The shift from the agricultural revolution to the industrial revolution created our challenge because going into the industrial revolution is when people and company owners started making factories and using all kinds of materials like mercury and lead which we don’t use today because we know how unhealthy it is for our planet and the people that live here. The agricultural revolution also started climate change because to create the prime agricultural environments people had to change the way that the earth was.
How does this impact our "challenge" in its local version of Hawaiʻi nei?
The revolutionary change impacted/is impacting Hawaiʻi’s climate change problems today because it’s a globally affecting issue. The use of fossil fuels and waste created in the Americas and even Asia affect the O-zone layer all the way in Hawai’i. The change involving evolution of machines and production using fossil fuels heavily affects the depletion of our protective and thinning O-zone layer. The pollution from just one place in the world has the potential of damaging our entire atmosphere.

How does the ongoing flux of the Industrial age continue to impact our "challenge" in its current form?
The ongoing flux of the Industrial age impacts our challenge of Climate Change because in the world we live in today, everyone relies on technology. The Industrial change as of today, The Industrial Revolution began in the 18th century, when agricultural societies became more industrialized and urban. The transcontinental railroad, the cotton gin, electricity and other inventions permanently changed society. So, you can see that in the past people relied on such things like railroads etc. As of today we have cars, trains, airplanes, etc and each and one of those things is killing our atmosphere. Because of all this new world having all of these advancements, the The Industrial Age was left behind. Climate change is being affected by our world today because of how much we have improved in transportation and the economy, we use more and more of what we need, until we have nothing left.

Connections to the French Revolution
In modern America, there is a majority of people planning to run President Trump out of office. Similar to how the people of France chose to drive out the monarchy. Both leaders were/are ignorant of the needs of the people and are paying the price for their actions. In Hawaiʻi there is constant slamming on Governor Ige and the governmentʻs plans for the rail. Although heʻs been good to the people, itʻs possible that his instinct foreign actions could drive him out of office. Another example would be the problem occurring on Mauna Kea. The production of TMT is something that the people of Hawaiʻi are strongly against, however, the government continues with the destruction of native property and resources. Due to this there have been movements of change “revolutions.”

Exploration Relations
The many things that continue to impact our project of Climate Change have a variety of factors from natural to humans. The continuation of burning fossil fuels, forest degradation, and many other things play major and negative parts in climate change. The number one thing that has the most impact on climate change are greenhouse gases, land use changes, and aerosols and soot, according to (Denchak, M. (2019, March 13). Global Climate Change: What You Need to Know. Retrieved from https://www.nrdc.org/stories/global-climate-change-what-you-need-know.) The National Geographic website quoted, “While many people understand that the greenhouse effect is natural, they may also associate greenhouse gases with global warming and, therefore, label these gases as bad. Yet, life on Earth evolved in a certain way because of how these gases regulate Earth's temperature.”
How do we see these impacts of exchanges now in modern America and Modern Hawaii?
The impact language had in both modern America and Hawaii played a big part in culture shift. There was almost a sense of brainwashing. In Hawaiʻiʻs case, along with the language came culture washing; altering the mindset of Aloha ‘Āina to near extinction. Similar things came to the Native Americans, causing the death of Native cultures today. Although losing culture is traumatic in itself, however, the pain could not compare to the pain caused by the diseases and alike spread through foreign contact.
Give Examples of How can we be prepared to handle your selected "challenge"/Project with these given exchanges in a (1) Independent Hawaiian Nation as well as (2) the current government in Hawaii?
To avoid rapid climate change, we can reduce our use of fossil fuels and go for re-usable instead of single-use plastics; or no plastics at all. This has been proposed by our state recently in what is known as Bill 40. What are some solutions or government positions to have in place? I think a good solution for climate change would be to set local emission goals in states or cities that would hopefully be able to lower emission effects on our atmosphere. This would result in the weather possibly being colder.

Triangulating Enlightenment, Industrialization, Colonization & Imperialism
The two Philosophers that greatly impacted our Kahiau Project topic were Francis Bacon and Christian Wolf. Christian Wolf Christian Wolff (1679–1754) was a philosopher, mathematician, and scientist of the German Enlightenment. His theories impacted our project because not only was he a scientist and studied scientist and a philosopher, but he also had studied many other things like botany. Also, Wolff was a naturalist. There were numerous researches on climate change and “the evidence for this includes that by researchers led by Christian Wolff.
Francis Bacon relates to our Kahiau Project, which is climate change and its impact. The Ben Franklin effect is a proposed psychological phenomenon: a person who has already performed a favor for another is more likely to do another favor for the other than if they had received a favor from that person. His philosophical theory ties into climate change because not only from the past were we affected by new inventions such as automobiles and the overuse of our natural resources like fossil fuels and the discovery of new energies, but we were also affected by the cause of our own species.
There are many events in the Industrial Revolution that affected and continues to affect our groupʻs issue of Climate change. However, the two biggest results of these events would be the discovery/use of fossil fuels and the development of mass production. Fossil Fuels were first found in Europe because of itʻs mining geography as a new energy source. The use of Fossil Fuels as energy evolved Europeʻs stance in the trade game. However, Fossil Fuels overtime have depleted our O-zone layer that protects us from the Sunʻs critical rays and maintains the comfortable temperatures on earth for all walks of life. To make matters worse, people began using fossil fuels as energy to mass-produce products making more money, faster. When fossil fuels are burned at a rapid pace, climate change is also affected at an equally rapid pace.
What happened in the Era of Expansion and Exchange were rich people making money off of things like plantations. Their only problem was that they needed more manpower so they went out and started buying slaves or using native people as very cheap manual labor. More than 11 million colored people were forcibly stolen from Africa and then brought to Brazil, the West Indies and other European Colonies. People of Color are facing oppression and discrimination every day. This led to the expansion of colonialism. This is affecting our problem because this led to the imperialism of big power plants that still hurt the environment to this day.
Two propelling factors that happened and most greatly impacted our project were the introduction to Western Technology and the impact of the overuse of resources. Western technology relates to our project because in Imperialization Era, “...the combination of the steamboat and the telegraph enabled the western powers - the rapid-fire machine gun.” In order to create all of these inventions, fossil fuels were needed. The continued overuse of the earthʻs natural resources began giving a negative impact on our atmosphere. Also “Although gold is a particularly clear and dramatic example, such plunder is a general phenomenon present to various degrees in relation to nearly all natural resources—whether gold, guano, oil, coffee, or soybeans—that are systematically drained from the global South by multinational corporations.” All of these resources that were traded were overused and overpicked. This relates to Hawaiʻi today because of all the events that have occured in the past continue to flow into modern times. Affecting our climate with a tremendous, negative impact.
