Progress I personally made was that this past weekend I had a 4 hour beach clean up at Pōkaʻi Bay. I cleaned the area up by picking up any waste I seen and repainted the bathrooms. Also, I got the chance to consult with state representatives (Cedric and Ben Gates) along with semi-popular impromptu singers that’d help support. My action Research topic is important for modern Hawaii because who will take care of the provider to us of life and nutrients? Leadership skills I must continue to develop and apply to be a True 21st century leader in my community is action and optimistic perspectives. Connections I see in issues between my family and local community I will continue to address is voices not heard, we are all aware of the reality and conflicts. We’re either someone who doesn’t know how to do anything about it or just doesn’t have enough support. Skills I have learned to apply as an impactful leader over the process of this Project is options leading to opportunity, I learned that just going out there even if you’re by yourself can make a difference in time. I can hopefully have a better flow time and situation for my next vlog update, now that there’s not set backs as of the moment right now. There’s no changes whatsoever, we pushed through and all took part to do something, the only “change” is that I am low a leader of an organization that’s held to better my community.

1. What progress have you made on your project? Progress i have made on my project is that I got involved with the community and managed to clean up trash, up to an amount that filled 3 heavy duty garbage bags (those stretchy ones). With the majority of the project being done, am I where I need to be with my project to present well at the end of April? I believe Im at where I need to be, the day where I spent at the beach for 4 hours in, unintentionally (even though I hoped so) I got a canoeing group involved in the act, even getting an interview with one of them and a happy picture of all of us as one. Any Changes to the plan .. what specifically have you accomplished in the next 3 steps for the month of February? There’s no changes whatsoever, we pushed through and all took part to do something.
What progress have you made on your project in the last 2 weeks? Progress, there were no progress whatsoever. Still the same as before, the dates for when we put our plans into action, haven’t been able to see the light of day. Are there any Changes to the plan .. what specifically will be your next 3 steps for the month of February ? Likewise to before, there were no changes in our plans, our next 3 steps for the month of February are still - One, attend to Paepae ‘o Heʻeia on an upcoming weekend (likely this weekend), Two, get others involved in the act and//or pass it on (we want to inspire and motivate others), three, have fun! What facts would you select to support the significance of aqua life? Facts I’d select to support the significance of aqua life is that it’s a source of life, like said many times, it supports us to keep us alive and is a two way job - we care for it so it cares for us.
What progress have you made on your project? We have made no progress what so ever, everything is quite chaotic but after these upcoming events, our plans most definitely will be put into action. The weekend we had planned, was filled up with sophomore banquet shopping and/or family last minute emergencies. Are there any Changes to the plan .. what specifically will be your next 3 steps for the month of February ? There were no changes in our plan, except dates of when to go. Though, we still plan to execute the same next three steps for the months of February are: one, go to Paepae ‘o Heʻeia two times, two, get others involved in the act and//or pass it on (we want to inspire and motivate others), three, have fun! How does Globalization affect the the human focus recipients of my project? Globalization affects the human focus recipients of my project, is nothing really. We just to do something to give back, while having fun in the process and observe if we can get anyone involved or inspired. Who are they? The they in this project, is anyone, could be you, my family members, friends, anyone. Why? Are there any AHA moments after viewing your video. Well we all should give back and take one on one time with the land, whether it’s only you or family and/or friends. We currently have no video footage of our project yet, but in a couple of weeks we’ll have it vlog'd on soon.
How is this project important to helping our local and global community? This project is important to helping our local and global community by protecting a type of life, that’s a resource providing us things, allowing us to live and be healthy. Us as Hawaiians, this is our kuleana, it goes without saying “why this project is important to helping our local and global community”. It’s only fair and right to give back, caring for others and other things. As a kid, most can relate being told “malama the ‘āina so it malama’s you”. How is my learning these particular leadership & technical skills of project management important to my future contribution to the Lāhui? My learning in leadership and technical skills through this project management is significant to my future contribution to the Lāhui, because I aspire to be someone who takes action. There’s many more things to look up to, like the opportunities I’ll be given, chances I’ll take, new friends, etc. What progress have you made on your project? We’ve got our dates we’re free listed and known, which makes it easier to adjust to what day and when is good and fit for everyone, in their schedule and life. Are there any Changes to the plan .. what specifically will be your next 3 steps for the month of February ? There were no changes to our plan, our next three steps for the months of February are: one, go to Paepae ‘o Heʻeia two times, two, get others involved in the actand//or pass it on (we want to insppire and motivate others), three, have fun!
What kind of leadership skills can I execute or have I executed?
Types of leadership skills I can execute is positivity, motivation, and creativity. I have exececuted these so far, by always seeing the brighter side to a failure - if something doesn’t go as planned, I can laugh at it and see what I can do to improve this, what steps can prevent from another mistake, and//or learn from it. Motivation is a skill needed to put things into play, you can’t inspire others and get your message to people without it. Lastly, creativity, which goes along with positvity in the long run. We don’t always have clear answers and solutions to problems, for example: sometimes last minute calls come up and plans can’t be done. You can decide to sleepover a friend’s house and go together, or do something similar, that’ll help achieve your goal. What issues do i see in my world country that I can address here in my local community? Issues I see in my world country that I can address, is the lack of inspiration. By lending a hand to achieve something through hardwork, while having fun (or making it fun), others can observe and take part as well. What actions am I or do I need to take to be a progressive action-researcher? Actions I can take to be a progressive action-researcher is by being determined, having a goal is the first step. You can’t go or get anywhere, without a place in mind. Once you have a goal, strive for it and give it your all. There’s no loss in giving something or someone your best. What can you say about: why caring for the aqua life is important? I can say that it’s only right to do so, it provides for us and is a source of life. It feeds what we feed off of, provides protection, and is such a beautiful thing. If we stopped caring, the life within it - dies, our food is decreased in result. And in the end, no one wins. What was our plan over the break? Our plan over the break was to all meet at Paepae ‘o Heʻeia. What we actually did during the break was probably sleeping, eating and caught up with our family. We did not meet at Paepae ʻo Heʻeia, though we did conversate with to one another (me and kaleʻa, justin and ethan), towards the ending. Kale’a and I were gonna go to Makaha to have at least something done, that is connected with our projects. That didn’t happen either because conflicts came up, whether it was personal or an emergency, all of that. Changes to the plan from when break has passed is that now, we’re moving it into this month, we’re going to be meeting at Paepae ‘o Heʻeia, either this weekend or next weekend. Definitely a weekend during this month (January) before it ends. We’ll be going again during February, to have more of a impact on that place and just for the fun of it. As a bonus, we’ll be doing a beach of our choice, either together or two and two. We’re gonna clean up a random beach and have fun after. Specifically, our next three steps for the month of January are one: find a date that we’re certain we all can meet with; two: actually show up to Paepae ‘o Heʻeia; and three: put our actions into place (four: have fun).
My project is held at Paepae o He'eia, where action will be taken place to make sea life better; not only for the aquatic life, but for us as well. This is important for research because itʻs not only life, but a source of food. Therefore, we have to take care of the land and sea life, so it can take care of us. Our topic is aquatic clean up, this is important for research because itʻs not only life, but a source of food. Therefore, we have to take care of the land and sea life, so it can take care of us. For instance, fish - itʻs a source of food, us Hawaiians love fish, a popular thing we love, poke! In this group of four, it is ethan won, justin cuello, kale’a nelson and me. The steps that we will execute and put into play for this kahiau project over winter break are cleaning up the reefs at Paepae ‘o He’eia, which consists of removing invasive species within it, and supporting them in any way possible. So far, a challenging obstacle thatʻs come up of this project is finding a right date - that will be fit for everyoneʻs schedule, because we all have our own life and places to be. We have to be aware of what our plans are ahead of time, to get everything organized and ready to go. An expectation I have to get out of this project, is a “chain effect” thatʻll hopefully get others motivated and moved to get involved with their community, or any community, and help or assist, and most of all - a fun productive time, where weʻll learn new things in a creative and fun way. Paepae ‘o He’eia fishponds will be assisting us in this kahiau project, as well as us to them, we hope for the best and canʻt wait.
