With the majority of the project being done, my action research topic is important for modern Hawaii because homelessness is a big problem in Hawaiʻi. We see homeless everywhere we go and it can impact the safety issues, the way people view Hawaiʻi and many other things. The problem is growing bigger and bigger because Hawaiʻi is so expensive and it doesnʻt seem like anyone is doing anything about it. To continue to develop & apply to be a True 21st century leader in my community, I need to have the leadership skills of being loving and understanding. By doing these things, my community with thrive and get better. As an adult, I see connections between issues faced in my family & my local community that I will continue to address. These issues include the expense it is to live in Hawaiʻi. To apply as an impactful leader over the process of this project, I have learned that it takes a lot of work to do something and to make a difference.

With the majority of the project being done, I am exactly where I need to be with my project to present well at the end of April. Me and my group have done everything we needed to do in order to donate cans to the homeless. I have learned so much leadership skills from this project. I learned that you need to be understanding and caring to the people in your community. You also need make sacrifices in order to build a better community. To being an impactful leader over the process of this Project, I have overcome many obstacles such as planning and fulfilling my responsibility to complete the project. As a group we needed to work together and communicate with each other in order to finish our project.
For our kahiau project, we have made so much progress over these past couple months. We have completed our project and have collected all our cans that we needed to donate. Our next few steps for our project is to plan a specific date for when and where we can donate to the Hawaii food bank. On that date we will drive all of our cans to the Hawaii food bank and it will be donated to the homeless. My project not only helps the homeless but it also helps me, my family and my community. This is because providing homeless with food can slightly cause there to be less homeless. This causing the environment and everywhere we go on this island, to be safe. To continue to be active leaders in our community we can keep on finding ways and creating projects that help our island and our people. We can also invite others to join us. This project will inspire others to take a stand on all the problems in Hawaii and will inspire them to do something about it.
I believe that a leader needs to have the skill of understanding and loving. I think this because if a leader is not loving and understanding then no one will listen to them. I also think that a leader needs to be good at communicating, which I am not. In my global Community that I can address here in my local community I see connections between the people. I always observe and hear stories of how the people are taking care of each other and being leaders. I have faced many obstacles when i come across to being an impactful leader over the process of this Project. I always have a problem when it comes to communicating with people because I get scared. But this project has helped to become a better leader in my community and in my life. To be better, I will work on the skills needed to become a good leader so that when the time comes, it will be useful. For our project, we have finished with everything such as collecting donations and boxing the cans. We are now waiting for the time to donate those boxes to the Hawaii Food Bank so that they can deliver them to the homeless.
For our project these last two weeks, we have finally finished collecting all of our donations and have boxed all of the cans. We donʻt have much to do now because the project is almost over. But our next steps for this month is to donate all of our boxes of cans to the Hawaii Food Bank so that they will donate it to the homeless. Supplying food to the homeless will make a huge and positive impact on the rest of the people, the community, and our society. This is because there wonʻt be starving people all around the island. There will be less homeless on the streets and life will start to improve in Hawaii.
Over these past few weeks we have collected a few more cans and have finished boxing all of our collected cans. We have concluded the collecting and donations of cans, but we are still accepting the donations of more cans to people who would still like to donate. We have accomplished and reached our goal for this project and we are very satisfied with the outcome of this fundraiser. There are no changes to our plans right now. We are almost done with our fundraising project. Our next three steps for this month is to finish boxing all of our collected cans. We will then take all of our donations to the Hawaii Food Bank so they can donate the boxes to the homeless. Through the Hawaii Food Bank, an organization that greatly influences and affects people lives, we are donating to the homeless. We are affecting the recipients of our project, which are the homeless people, by supplying them with essentials needed to survive in life, such as food. There is poverty all over the world and we need to do something about it.
For our project, over the weekend, we have collected more cans from our family, friends, community and the people around us. From this point, we are then going to start organizing all of our collected cans into boxes and donating it to the Hawaiʻi Food Bank Association. The Hawaiʻi Food Bank Association will then donate the canned foods to the homeless. The question is, how can we supply homeless with filtered water and healthy food more often? We can supply the homeless with filtered water and healthy food by organizing more events for charity. By doing this, more people will participate in these events and donate to charity. This will cause the homeless to be well fed and our project will be fulfilled.
Our project is to collect canned goods and donate it to the homeless shelters because they are not able to receive the necessities they need in life. In order to carry out this project, over break, we needed to spread the word around our communities about donating canned goods. Over the break our plan was to start collecting canned goods throughout our community. We were all able to collect some canned goods from our friends and family. I was able to collect canned goods from my neighbors and relatives. The next steps in our project is to collect more cans. I am going to advertise and collect cans from more people around me. When we are all done collecting the cans we will give our collected cans to the Hawaii Food Bank and they will then donate those cans to the homeless shelters. The topic of our Kahiau group project is save the crave, which means providing food for those who are not able to afford it. There are many people who are not able to receive the essential necessities needed in life such as food. Helping the homeless is important because it not only affects them, but everyone else, also. We see the homeless living on the streets, in parks and beaches, all around our island with nothing to eat. They deserve to be able to have a meal and the right nutrition. In our group, we have Aislen Bacalso, Jaydeen Flores and Klaudia Watson. Over Winter Break, we plan on collecting canned goods in our communities and donating it to the Hawaiian Food Drive. It has been challenging to organize everything in order to carry out our project. We needed to figure out what problem we were going to help solve and what we need to do in order to solve it. From this project, I hope that I will realize that many people face the struggles of hunger and starvation. I expect to learn the lesson of being grateful for all that I am given because there are people all around the world who have nothing at all. With the assistance of my parents, I hope that I will be able to get this project done.
There are many people who are not able to receive the essential necessities needed in life. Helping the homeless is important because it not only affects them, but everyone else, also. We see the homeless living on the streets, in parks and beaches, all around our island. It is heartbreaking seeing people suffer and no one is doing anything about it. Everyone deserves the right to have a life that is includes all the essentials needed in life. We need to do something about this problem!
