North and South Vietnam and Korea were the top 3 hotspots of the Cold War. The US made a military fund deal with Vietnam and that really didnʻt end well. They were called the Paris Peace accords. The new democratic congress defunded this Peace Accords and ended the treaty with Vietnam. North Vietnam then invaded South Vietnam leaving them in poverty. I donʻt agree these systems set up to help native people because all they are doing is helping out tourism. They are try to have an economic growth in tourism in Hawaiʻi. They donʻt care about the native people who still strive to survive. The native people still have to pay for food just like the tourists, so treat everyone the same, and everyone will be happy.

A lot of the new technologies were weapons that were created during the war and are still being used today in the modern world. The main tech that was used to end WW2 was machine guns, planes,, and bombs. I think that the atomic bombs were extremely dangerous because it destroyed lands and ruined people’s lives that weʻre affected by them. The next one I would say is the best is the machine guns because it would just kill anybody. Leadership is all on the Leader. The leader chooses to be a good leader or a bad leader or sometimes they donʻt even know their being a bad leader. The new technologies tell what the leader will do with it. With a lot of power, a good leader will protect their land from intruders. Although the US also bombed native places not thinking of the innocent people that lived there. That was a bad leadership move. People would also get diseases from the explosions of the bombs which was very bad. The Treaty of Versailles was the most important political document of the 20th Century because it brought World War 1 to an end. This Treaty ended the war between Germany and the Allied Powers. Without this Treaty, I wouldnʻt say the war would still be going but it definitely would go on much longer. Adolf Hitler was not controllable and he took so much land like it was nothing. He had to be stopped somehow.
The Treaty of Versailles set up World War 2 by making names like the “Losers”. Of course being called a loser isnʻt something you want to hear. Germany got angry because they didnʻt want to be known as the Losers. They wanted to become the Winners. This impacted Hawaiʻi by the bombing of Pearl Harbor. We see the Malthusian Flux theory applied in this example of the First Big Fight by having a bigger population. When you have a bigger population, it usually tends to have a disagreement in something. This causes war and problems. It is fine to have a disagreement in something but I feel that violence is not the option. Violence should not happen in our world.
This impacts so many people facing hunger because there are only so many organizations that are helping this problem. I mean we have a lot of people but not everyone is willing to help out the hungry. The hungry might not want help but the non profit organizations are willing to try. They are trying to do something good to help out their community. That is a bunch of people doing whatʻs right. The leadership skills needed to address & execute both the Big Picture and the Small Picture are motivation and responsibility. Motivation is needed because if you donʻt have motivation, your not motivated to get over things like hunger. Motivation is a way for you to get motivated to do whatʻs right. Once you get the motivation to actually do something, you get things done. This is a good trait to have. Responsibility is a big one to have in this situation. If your not responsible, then you basically wonʻt get anything done. You would be reckless and not follow any rules. If you take responsibility, you can get more things done than if you didnʻt have it. Responsibility is a great leadership trait to have. I think this Kahiau Project impacted my leadership growth the most because it caused me to take control of my group to get the job done. We were behind on our community service because one of the organizations didnʻt get back to us so I looked online for another event that we can do. I took control as a leader to find out the info of this event and made sure we got to do it. We had to get this community service done. My personal motivation to strive for excellence in this class is to get an A because a lot of people say this class is so hard. It is not that hard. It is just a lot of work and if you manage your time better, you can get the work done. I hear all of the time that “Oh, this class is so hard and stuff and I am just sitting there thinking to myself, itʻs because you donʻt put the effort to do your work in this class. As long as you do your work in this class, you will get a good grade. For our community service, we planned on going to the Hawaii FoodBank nonprofit organization. This organization was perfect for our hunger issue because we would have been giving food back to our community to those in need. We planned on doing the Food 4 Keiki project and we called the person in charge to see if we could get a scheduled date but the lady wouldnʻt get back to us. We called multiple times but the lady wouldnʻt answer. We then started looking for other organizations to complete our project at the last minute.
Nothing really went well for this project over break. We didnʻt get a response from the supervisor of the Foodbank and that really tore our hope apart. We were excited to do this fun project, packing food for kids but we couldnʻt get to do it. The thing that couldvʻe gone better was at least a phone call back from the supervisor. We compensated by looking for other organizations we could participate in at the last minute. Yes, my understanding of poverty and other UN issues is improving which is actually making my brain hurt. Itʻs making me think about all of the possible solutions to every problem I learn about. My leadership skills have expanded a lot since the beginning of the school year. In the beginning of the school year, I wouldnʻt have the confidence to call a supervisor of an organization but I did last week. I was trying to contact the supervisor for our project to set a date to volunteer but in result, she didnʻt answer. |
