When it comes to progress, I've honestly made zero to none. The only reason I haven't made any progress within the last week was because I wasn't in school and wasn't able to get into my explorers world and create more. This will be a great obstacle for me because I not only lost three to four class periods of building and expanding my explorers world, but I've also lost a lot of time trying to catch up on the side work as well. I'm actually planning on keeping everything basic and just getting the basic structures of everything, so that I can get the basic point across and if I have time in the end, add more details to help build a more vivid picture of what Cousteau's life was.
I realize that time is very crucial and my absences have not helped the situation at all. Cousteau was a very efficient person. When he wanted something done, he would work as hard as he could because he knew the reward in the end was going to be worth it. I feel that right now, I need to learn from Cousteau and how he wrote books after books to fund raise for himself to go out on another expedition. This was a very important part of his life because he was able to share the underwater experiences he had with others around him, through words and vivid imagery in his text.

Within the minecraft world I've made much progress from the one day I had of building. First, I created two of the 'oceans' which represents the waters Cousteau was able to explore. He did of course explore more waters but I have yet to build upon that. I've also created a two-story building, the first one containing a 'book room' which represents that he was successful in not only exploring but in writing his own book, which did very well in the market. I've also made progress on the second story of the building, although it's not finished it's coming along.
Cousteau was a famous underwater explorer and in this project I am trying to showcase his life in a way where you're underwater. I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to create that kind of atmosphere, but with the waters surrounding the building, I feel that expressing that he was a sea explorer will be easily conveyed. His underwater expeditions were something to remember because the underwater world can be very synonymous to the land but on the other hand can prove to be much more. |
