The work in this course was very interesting but in a good way. I really enjoyed the work and projects that we got to the quizzes in the beginning of classes. Those small things really helped me understand what we were going to learn for that day or week. Something I thought was valuable was the iLeader project because we had to connect a leader from back than to a leader from Hawaiʻi and see things that they had in common. The iLeader I had was a great experience and I really hope I do it sometime in the future.
The Kahiau project does help me make connections to the historical events that happened back then. They help me connect what happened then and how some of them still relate to now. Yes i would definitely use these skills and the Kahiau project as a capstone as a junior or senior. I would use it because this is my first capstone and I think I did really well on it. The way it can be better is by me adding more detail and looking for more information that would be helpful and also interesting.

There are common themes between Maiau quality, Hard Work Ethic, and Kulenana. These three qualities have different meanings but they all have some things in common. For example You need to take leadership in to everything you do with a group or else everything will be out of control. And when you have that leadership than you start to put in the Hard Work ethic. Than, with good work than comes Maiau work. They come together very well and they also come together in or ʻOhanaʻs and our Lāhui.
Our people for many of years worked hand in hand to get big and even small things done. Work is done easier and better when done by all. According to our schools website it says that they see a thriving Lāhui within the next 25 years. They want to strengthen Hawaiian leadership to take control of projects and work. So our school is trying to step foot into these three values to start to become better people. So if we start little now we will grow overtime into the people that our school wants us to be. That is Maiau people that are responsible and hardworking. Roots Program Kalihi Valley. (2020). Roots Kalihi. There are a lot of problems that are going around that connect close to the same things. The problems just grow off each other and people canʻt seem to solve them. If people start of easy and than work their way up they will have an easier time taking care of the problems one by one. For example, this covid virus. If people take care of a handful of people it would be much more contained and in control.
The ways that I might use these skills is the future is when I get older there are going to be task that come my way and I need to find the right solution for these task. If I use the right thing to do than it would be easier and I would get them done at the right time. Everyone has a sense of self-efficacy but not everyone knows how to use it correctly. Since we are learning about it now it would be easier for my generation to get these task done and in the right matter. This iLeader project was very interesting and fun. It helped me better understand what are different leaders that people donʻt know about, and how they contributed to help people. I am going to start it off with Nainoa Thompson, he spreads the words of Hawaiians throughout the whole world. That is his mission when he is on the World Wide Voyage.
The next leader is Henrique II, he pushed himself to be the best leader possible because the leader before him passed away and he had to step in to help. He than better the lives of the people in his village and started to do better than the previous king. Both leaders in my project are great examples of good leadership values. |
