During this week I had finished getting the donations from my family and friends. Many people donated to us. We also went and posted flyers around our neighborhood. People had brought clothes after seeing the flyers. I am also very grateful for all though who have donated.
I have just started collecting clothes from my neighbors and from myself. I have a lot of donations already but I am still asking people to donate. IHS said that they would be willing to help us by giving the clothes to the homeless for us. My project shows that we are putting other people needs before our selves. This affects me because it just gives me a good feeling to know that I am able to help someone else for nothing in return. It also affects my community because going around and asking people for donations might move someone to help touch the hearts of one of these people we are going to help. That is why I chose to do this for my Kahiau Project.
After having a meeting with both puka mai ka la and the ASKS Board they both said that can not help us with our project they said that they were sorry but they are not allowed to promote things that they school does not throw. They both wanted to help but the rules say they can't.
Nothing much has happen this week just waiting still to meet with puka mai ka la and I am still waiting on a response from the ASKS Board.
The ASKS Board did not get back to me yet on what they can do to help us with our project but Puka mai ka la said that will be meeting in two weeks to talk about it.
For this week I had talked more with the ASKS Board on how they can help us with our project. They told me that they would have to get to me on what they could do to help us get the message out to the students to help us. I have also tried contacting different companies to help us but, none have responded yet.
What I did for the first week is I went and talked to one of the people in ASKS board to ask them on how they could my group. They gave me many different things that I could do around campus. Some of the things that they gave me was to go to the teacher of Puka mai ka la. I am still planning to meet with the teacher that runs Puka mai ka la. The ASKS board gave me also many other ideas that our group is thinking about at the moment.
