After this whole experience Iʻve got to say it was very eye opening. I never had the chance to do this kind of thing so it was cool to see the people that run it and how much hard work is put into it. Besides talking to the clients our group actually went around the block asking for just anyone to show up and to donate whenever they had the chance that day. Going out and asking it was a difficult task that you wouldnʻt really notice, but it was a good experience and to first hand experience what it felt like. After this project it did make me realize the importance of donating blood. There are people out their suffering from major accident and sicknesses, and this simple thing as donating can do a whole lot of good. After this project it gave me a much better perspective on just being a leader and how much of being global citizen matters in this world. Knowing that I contributed to a cause thatʻs much bigger than me and my group is such an accomplishment. Based off of from what I learned in class and using that knowledge to apply it to the blood drive gave me a better perspective on what I was doing, knowing that my time and effort would pay off to those in need. Being a global citizen takes so much more than just doing something one time, itʻs about constantly giving your effort and time to a greater cause. Tying this in to the leadership qualities in class a great leader shows that he/she cares about their people, that they are caring and selfless. With the project that our group did thatʻs what we needed. To be caring for the clients that came in and out of the drive.

We were not able to schedule the appointment with the blood bank but it was still such an amazing experience. Not only did we talk with the patients that day but we also got to learn a lot about blood and why so many people were willing to help out. People sat down telling their personal reasons why they donate, it was just nice hearing about others and why they care so much about this situation.Since our group finished our project so early on we tried to get another trip to the actual blood bank to see what really goes on behind the scenes and what happens to the blood once itʻs donated. My group and I have already finished with helping out with the Hawaii Blood Bank. Throughout the day we sat down and talked through with most of the clients coming in to donate. Asking questions regarding their reasons why they donate and further more why they think itʻs important to donate. The feedback we got from the clients were amazing, and everyone seemed involved and knew the importance of blood drives.Getting prepared to start off our project our group did some research on blood and how everything behind the scenes works. We decided to do this specific type of volunteering because it was something that needed to be worked with and itʻs an important job to do.
