Agricultural Revolution
The shift from the Agricultural Revolution to the Industrial Revolution created multiple challenges in the Safavid Empire. The Agricultural Revolution created food control, a food surplus, and even the emergence of specialty jobs. Those eventually increased the population and the Industrial Revolution was able to be established. A challenge in the Iran Empire (a.k.a Safavid) was because of the great growth of the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution included buildings, transportation, and improved operating machines that have affected the environment and caused problems like pollution in the air and the ocean.

The ongoing flux that has impacted our environment is that with the number of people we have in our world, the land is being taken to make more houses. Another problem that we see is the big industrial companies building more and more, with the factory putting bad things into the environment. The increased use of chemicals in factories, the air and water are continuously getting polluted. Finally, with the increased population the more land that we take up the fewer places to grow food and thatʻs how we had limited our resources.
|
This impacts our challenge in its local version of Hawaiʻi by the ongoing problems of the Industrial age impacts Hawaiʻi significantly. Hawaiʻi is considered a tourist attraction. This causes many people to want to come here. This is the cause of many traffic problems here on Hawaiʻi. Traffic is not only bad for the people it is bad for the environment. Too many cars on the road cause air pollution. Littering is also an effect of urbanization. This should be a wake up call to Hawaiʻis leaders to find solutions to the many people in Hawaiʻi.

Revolution Solutions
The criteria that sets up a Revolution to begin is when the population revolts against the government. This happens because of perceived oppression politically, socially, and economically. In other words, this means that the population is trying to control the government. Then it causes a war between the two powers. The rebellions and riots protesting against the government leading to an overthrow and the beginning of revolution.
In modern Hawaiʻi we do see signs of revolution. For example in Hawaiʻi, the situations between the different events occurring on land has caused the people in Hawaiʻi to evolve as a lāhui. Because Hawaiians have a big relationship with their ʻāina, they are very prideful and that causes them to grow as a nation. Another example in America would be the impeachment of the president. The situation could possibly turn into a violent act cause some chaos. We can prepare to handle climate change by the effect a revolution could have on our topic of environment would be strange since with the idea of Mauna Kea is active right now and that we would get all the land back that we are currently fighting for. The Hawaiian government would give a ton of access to the land and make everyone happy again with the land that we once lost is now ours again. Some solutions to have in place is we would be our own country, which means we would be independent enough to take care of ourselves. For example, we wouldn’t have people bossing us around threatening us because of others actions. We also would have more land and less poverty because we would make the rules and make better living place for native Hawaiians. |

Expansion concepts
The major concept for our Kahiau project topic exchanges. Exchanges were able to give and trade many types of products and goods. As other ideas were brought to people, the more things were created and it affected resources on land. Resources were then impacted by pollution and land development.
What continues to most impact our Kahiau topic is the population is one thing that impacts our topic. People bring in new ideas such as in technology and it can affect the resources that help life on land. When new ideas come it can build onto bigger creations. More technology would be built and it may destroy or pollute areas on land. The more actions from the population, the more impactful it can be on the Earth.
Now in modern America, an example of how exchange or trade made an impact is now there are many different religions in one nation. Another impact in America is that it brought money and ideas. In modern Hawaii, you can see an impact from exchanges is diseased. Another impact form exchange or trade is resources. In Hawaii, we rely on other nations to supply us with things we need like wood, or other building materials.
An example of how we can be prepared to handle your selected is by spreading the knowledge of our culture and ancestors about how aloha ʻāina is a huge part of our culture and what makes us Hawaiians. With the current government in Hawaiʻi, they should pass laws that protect our sacred lands and they should start making laws that make us more conservable and efficient.
Some solutions or government positions to have on place is passing laws that protect our sacred lands and they should start making laws that make us more conservable and efficient. Making a government position or state law for Hawaiian Activists to take part in.

Lā47 Kahiau Group Reflection
The two philosophers that related to our Kahiau project were Baruch Spinoza and Thomas Paine. Baruch Spinoza was from Amsterdam, Netherlands. He had a great view of God, the world, humans, and knowledge to serve the moral ground of philosophy centered on the control of the passions leading to virtue and happiness. His views of God made him look at the world in a different perspective than others and more creative and cautious thinking as well. Thomas Paine was from Thetford, Norfolk, England. He was a political activist, philosopher, political theorist, and revolutionary. A quote from him was, “ The harder the conflict the more glorious the triumph.” This relates to the Kahiau project topic because it may be difficult to overcome challenges, but you just have to keep working and pushing to the end. These theories continue to impact our topic in modern Hawaiʻi by giving us a different perspective on how the nature of our world works and the realization of how our hard work can transform into success.

The two biggest industrial Revolution results that most greatly impact my Kahiau project topic is urbanization and pollution. Urbanization usually happens when there is an increase in population. In Hawaii, there was a big increase in population because of tourism. This then leads to pollution. When things like factories and steam engines were invented it turned coal into smoke which causes pollution and affects the environment in a negative way.

There are three main reasons for European Exploration. Them being for the sake of their economy, religion, and glory. They wanted to improve their economy for instance by acquiring more spices, gold, and better and faster trading routes. Also, they really believed in the need to spread their religion, Christianity. It compacts our Kahiau Project topic because it starting to ruin our environment with these invasive species along with foreign land leasing.
|
The two propelling factors that had greatly impacted our project is the increase in political status and the cost of living going up. The factors had come since Hawaiiʻs government is trying to grow with tourism and making prices higher which impacts our idea of the environment with more people leaving trash instead of taking the extra step of throwing it away. With more people on the island, the large use of sunscreen continues to affect our oceans’ reef.

ʻĀina is something very special and sacred in many places. Some reasons ʻāina could be fought over are because of great resources and the places that give opportunities for nations wealth and well being. But there were many other reasons for the start of wars and conflicts. This is not pono leadership because good leaders would always think of other ways to find what's best for their nation. A good leader in this case would try finding another path to avoid being in war. More war will bring more problems.
The various forms of ʻāina are being impacted from the ideological factors of the wars by warfare weapons and other scientific advancements that harmed the environment. This is obviously bad for people and their health. For example, the technology of warfare has caused many places to suffer from radiation (from nuclear bombs). That not only destroyed homelands, but it also affected the health and lives of many people.
Some struggles of native identities as a result from these wars are that our identity may not look as “green” and flourishing as before. The result of these wars have brought more technology that affects not only the land, but the life and kānaka on land as well.
This may not have been a big problem in some areas in Hawaiʻi, but polluted oceans and air have occured over time from technology. Our Kahiau Project aims towards decreasing the problem of pollution in air, land, and sea and providing more opportunities for life on land to flourish.
The Covid19 outbreak has caused a dramatic change for the living styles of people. The ideological struggle during the Cold War continues to impact the kānaka in Hawaiʻi because the nation may not be prepared to handle possible nuclear attacks or other warfare weapons. We have learned that radiation from bombing has affected the health of people and destroyed many homeland areas. It may be a difficult time adjusting to this situation with Covid19, but I think the best we could do is be patient and move slowly and firmly. We may not be able to move as fast, but if we take things slowly then less chaos will be brought into creating solutions and getting back on our feet.
