Hello, my name is Marc Holmberg, Im a sophomore at Kamehameha Schools. I have attended Kamehameha since 4th grade and being here and seeing how people work and the atmosphere in which they do has changed me and everyone here for the better. I believe its important to give back to where you're from and to never forget your roots, witch is why helping the people in need in my area is so important to me. I live on the North Shore of Oahu which is a very home-roots based style of living, so making an impact will be a big deal. Blog Post 1 We figured out our plan and what were going to do for our Kahiau Project, We planned that we would partner with my church, St Michaels to collaborate and pass out goodie bags with goods for the homeless people around our local neighborhoods. Blog Post 2 I started to grab double gallon ziplock bags and 2 packs of Gildan Socks for the goodie bags. Along with that I also reached out to my mom who works in the church, she said sheʻll be able to help us out with getting involved locally in the North Shore area. Blog Post 3 I went out with my mom and grabbed toothbrushes and small toothpaste tubes to put in the bags. I discussed with Brenton on how were going to pass out the bags and what neighborhood because we all can't travel far, we plan on doing it individually within our own areas. Bog Post 4 I finished setting up the bags although I only have 5. They have socks, toothpaste, a toothbrush, a water bottle, granola bars fruit snacks, and a small blue comb. I plan on giving them out during break with my mom. Blog Post 5
It was a lot easier to get rid of the 5 bags then I thought it was going to be. Me and my mom drove around haleiwa and Waialua handing out the bags to homeless and less fortunate we came across.
