Now in 2020 with the current COVID-19 situation does the Cold War ideas and the threats of a World War III impact us at all? Of course. We are the people who have to put up with all the madness and I personally don’t know how WWIII threats and the Cold War could have not impacted us. COVID-19 is scary like everything else is. if so how do you think our work with the Kahiau project has prepared us and someways for this new way of doing life in the COVID-19 environment? The Kahiau Project has not prepared us for a new life of COVID. Pollution is a large issue and a very serious one as well but in a time like this where people are decided who to give treatment to in order to keep them alive. I don’t think we should care about how much plastic we are using. Reflecting back on the World War 1 & 2 Scientific Advancements made in the name of Technology, was the cost to humanity worth the gain? It was worth the gain. If we did not make the extra preparations to help fight in these Wars than we would not be where we are not. It has caused a lot of damage, but we are where we are now because of it. How has / do these advancements continue to impact our modern society here in Moananuiākea & Hawaiʻi? As a modern kānaka leader, do you think that the cost to our lāhui, our ʻāina, our ʻohana is worth the gain to “society”? It negatively impact our lāhui because us as people are very against what the mainlanders do. Since we were dragged in these wars we became a "state". No matter how much good the US has done for us Hawaiians they will never pay the debt of disrespect we have gotten because of these actions. The British imperial mindset is heavily based on ignorance. They go to a foreign land and force the people of that land to adapt to them and their culture instead of them adjusting to the foreign culture. The British believe that their way is the right way and that others have to confine them. In Gandhi and The Rabbit-Proof Fence, people were beaten and mistreated for no reason other than living and acting in their culture. We as people have been ignorant of other people’s beliefs instead of learning about the other cultures we continue to live our own. Some still put others down for not believing in the same thing as they believe in. In World War 2, more creative ways to kill were invented. This caused fear in a lot of other countries. Hawai’i builds a base to protect ourselves from these dangerous possibilities, putting more targets on our backs. The ‘aina was taken from us after needing more safety from the US. I would convince them to come to an agreement with all countries (mainly Germany). History happens for a reason and I wouldn’t want to change that. The important factors that set up a Nation for an act of war or social revolution are the ability to come together as a nation to find a cause worth fighting for. All of the wars and social revolutions all started with ideas these ideas shifted and caused impact for other nations and their own. An idea can take us a long way. New ideas are created every day to make our lives a little easier. Every cause could be worth fighting for. Our Hawaiian identity is a cause that we are trying to take back. The War to end all wars didn't end all wars. The world war two still occurred and oppressed many people. The lesson wasn't learned and still isnʻt because of threats of World war III. Wars and new inventions debris are left behind causing pollution. The idea of pollution is mainly brought up in current time rather than in the past. Francis Bacon ad Baruch Spinoza they talked about knowledge is only attainable through other knowledge and how things are very ethical god and values went hand in hand. Event There was to be beach clean up at Wawamalu beach park. Anuhea and Nicole were going to attend and help clean up the beach. I was not able to go to the event because I was participating in the Rose Bowl event. This was our original plan. What actually happened was only Nicole attended. Anuhea had a last-minute trip to Big Island and only Nicole was free. The beach clean up was successful in cleaning up rubbish. We could’ve found a better date with a different organization and all of us could have attended the beach clean up. Nicole was a trooper and attended the event alone. We didn’t compensate on Anu and I’s account. My understanding of my issues is improved. My standing in pollution was weak and now I feel more obligated to contribute benefiting our planet. From this project, my leadership skills are also improving this project has helped me feel more responsible for my actions. I’ve come to a lot of realization about how my actions of littering truly impact the environment. LeadershipWhat has impacted my leadership growth the most this semester is learning and understanding how leadership was formed. From the basics of how people created ideas and the basic human mind developed. I have learned from other leaders mistakes and triumphs. Leadership has very different ideas and concepts. Learning from others helped me the most.
What has affected my motivation in this class last semester was the goal of being able to learn how to learn. I do well in this class do better my learning abilities made in different environments. This year I wanted to no change a class because I found it hard to learn in a certain way. I wanted to be able to learn in different ways to broaden my learning capabilities. The real world doesn’t revolve around you people won’t change for your benefit.
