Attending Kamehameha, a school with incredible resources gave us this opportunity to give back to the community, and most importantly our ancestors. We decided to start a project to inform our student body and the staff about an amazing organization that desires to make positive changes everyday.
The Sierra Clubʻs slogan is "Mālama i ka Honua," which means to "Cherish the Earth." Promoting this organization with original posters and flyers will promote the many service projects that Sierra Club provides such as hikes and cleanups. We hope that students will come to participate.
Whether it is checking out their website or donating money, it would be of great help to their team as well as the environment.
Week 1-5 Update
We've only been making updates on our individual sites. You can check them out with the links above. You can also check out this summarization of what we've been doing these past weeks:
Week 1 was all about asking Sierra Club their permission in the project and promoting the organization. The weeks after were all about collecting service projects and scheduling times when it can be done. Drafts for the posters are being made and it will provide information about Sierra Club, its' contributions to the environment, and upcoming service projects.
One of these projects is the beach cleanup on May 7th from 8:00am-12:00pm located at Sandy Beach.
