In 2020 with the current Co-vid 19 situation, the controversial statements regarding the origin of the virus could spark conflict between China and the U.S. The controversy is "China creating the virus as a biological weapon" which reminds me of the biochemical weapons created in the War.
Our work in the Kahiau Project has taught us possibilities of settling the numbers of homeless people and incoming refugees. This could be beneficial for when we want to go out and help those who are having a hard time with the social distancing. For instance, it could be something little like passing out masks or buying food to give out kind of like how the Salvation Army did in Ala Moana.

The atomic bomb struck fear in other countries. The M1 Semi-Auto Rifle was like no other gun for ground to ground combat. Radar Technology influenced many important aspects of the conflict. Radio-based detection and tracking was used by both Allies and Axis powers.

Theorist: Montesquieu
“To become truly great, one has to stand with the people, not above them.”
Montesqiuea published Persian Letters, expressing how ridiculous a Paris society seemed through the eyes of visitors. This is how it may seem for tourists when they come to visit the islands.
Theorist: Rene Descartes
“ It is not enough to have a good mind, the main thing is to use it well.”
I picked Rene Descartes, the mathematician, for my second theorist because of how the numbers of Hawai’iʻs population increases exponentially. I predict that his skills could be of good use in my Kahiau Project, “Setting Ease For Refugees.”
Theorist: Adam Smith
“The real tragedy of the poor is the poverty of their aspirations.”
I think Adam Smith could be providing a possible solution or at least fact to Hawai’iʻs modern government. Iʻve heard about so much about invested in long-term projects and infrastructure such as the rail to the Tmt that itʻs costly effective. The Scottish Enlightenment was a time of great intellectual and scientific developments for Adam could really be getting at a good point.
Theorist: Thomas Jefferson
“Do you want to know who you are? Donʻt ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you.”
Thereʻs no doubt that the way we act and conduct ourselves as a people of Hawai’i determines the personality of this nation. Although, I think that the rights of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” needs to be redefined a great deal in this state.
I think the thing that has impacted me the most in my leadership growth throughout last semester has been the socratic sessions. In these talk sessions, we simply have the chance to speak our thoughts and wonders about todayʻs society. We can learn through each otherʻs thoughts and also gain a better grasp on our own opinions. For example, I brought up an issue regarding the 2014 International Coalition and how Trump plans to act upon it when my group ran out of ideas or questions to present. This is a current event so I asked my peers how Trumpʻs decisions with Iraq and Syria could affect us as a State of the USA. Iʻd say that Iʻve learned a lot of information just from preparing for this presentation and I hope we will have more this quarter.
Being able to showcase a cultural food from our ancient empire got me going in this class. The empire food project motivated me to work hard and do the best I can. After putting a couple hours a day into that food project, the idea of putting forth my best effort into reflections, assignments or whatever has been enhanced within me for this class. All I have to do is turn in things that are complete.
- In reflecting on the Exploration, Exchanges & Expansion concepts, which of the 4 major concepts impacted globalization to set up your Kahiau Project topic?

We were supposed to submit donations to the Pacific Gateway Center non-profit organization. I did nothing and enjoyed my break. Nai’a kept on the grind and planned a lot of things for the cooperation with Pacific Gateway.
What went well was that I learned how to surf the new longboard, got my diving gear together and caught 3 Ininui, 2 Uhu, 1 Kala and 1 Needlefish. We threw that fish went straight to the hibachi. I continued to work out and I bodyboarded pipeline/backdoor 3-6 ft.
I couldʻve been more productive in our project planning. To compensate for it, I will gather goods and food to give. My understanding of poverty and other UN issues of humanity is improving because Iʻve read up on Trump's impeachment. No, my leadership skills are not expanding as a result of what Iʻm doing in this Kahiau Project because I am partially lost.
