Two days before our event we found that we had a venue change so that created more problems for us. Mainly because we had to change ride plans and our posters were useless because it had the wrong info and it was too late to print more. So that was fun. But doing it at Petco gave our project a lot more publicity because of the customers so it worked out good :)

Found out that we were the only ones to do this from scratch. Other groups had other connections to do this for them but I thought it was cool to see our project come to life all together as our group :)
Building this project with my group was a lot of fun. It also helped me understand how to be a global citizen. Taking a small step in our community by helping dogs without a home is a small action for a big change which i think is important in being global citizens. Some things that I noticed when helping out SPCA was that most people love the animals but the majority can’t adopt because of space issues or they can’t afford them. This leaves a limited window for these pets to get adopted. But I’m glad that we were fortunate enough to get two dogs, brother and sister, adopted that day. Before going there, I had thought it was going to be a bit bigger and maybe in a more friendly environment with the dogs playing on the floor and maybe more of them. Now I see that it’s hard enough to get three dogs and two cats adopted so bringing in more would just make more work for everyone. We also had some last minute changes which I think worked out pretty good considering our Petco location brought more people not to mention sheltered us from the rain. An effective long term plan is key with projects like this because we don’t need to help just one animal get a forever home we have to try to help everyone we can. Getting help from shelter like SPCA worked great and maybe next time we can showcase the website (oops) and advertise petdoption more. Overall I think this project worked great and it warmed my heart that coffee and creme both got adopted. I also hope that we can continue this project with the sound effects crew!
So far we're just waiting for April 30th to hit for our event date. We've finished the awareness factor and the personal website for our event. We also made posters and created various social media accounts to spread the word about PetDoption :)
So we got everything set up. We're going to have the event at Moanalua Dog Park and have SPCA as our "sponsor" for the dogs. We decided on SPCA because I had done work with them before and they are a nonprofit and non-euthinization organization. Just a few days ago we also decided to add an awareness element to our event to get dogs adopted and raise awareness for the community about abuse and mass breeding of animals. The event was originally going to be on the 15th but we pushed it back to the 30th
Our group already has a set date which will be April 15. We will be hosting the event at Moanalua Dog Park at 10-2 . We've decided who will bring what to the event like tables and water and stuff. We've confirmed things like SPCA is sponsoring us and that they are a non profit organization. I think everything's coming together :)
