LearningThe skills and content learned in World History was very valuable and interesting. Throughout the course, the class learned new things about the world, whether it uprooted previous beliefs or thoughts, or simply added more to said beliefs and/or thoughts. It also, despite some history being shaking or harrowing, brought interest or curiosity within the subject in itself, bringing more to want to know more. For example, during the whole WWI-WWII phase of learning, I was drawn to a lot of information, because I found the topic very interesting. 2 skills that I learned that might pertain to other classes or future endeavors are; the PEEL process, and socratic seminars, specifically on making questions and answers. There are many other skills of which I have learned that might be important along the road, like Photoshop or Illustrator, or citing sources and taking good notes, but I feel that the two listed previously are one of the most important things I learned. For example, I use the PEEL process for some essays or writing assignments that I do, and it helps out tremendously. Another example would be, in future tense, in perhaps an interview or meeting or something of the sort, being able to build good questions and good answers is a major key in having good communication skills, as well as seeming most intuitive, with the use of important words or structures, or by the simple intelligence of the question/answer in general. What I liked the most about using Photoshop, in general, is the fact that I got to learn what it is, and how to use it (on a basic term). Doing both Photoshops for both leaders was a bit of a challenge, but it was finished well. Using Illustrator was more of a challenge, in comparison to Photoshop. It took me many tries before getting it to look like what I wanted it to, and reaching what I needed to in requirements. I would rather not use the applications again, because I’m not the best with these things and I am pretty forgetful over things like these. However, if I must, I will re-learn or try again. Over the course of the year, this class has discussed and shown many interesting topics. For example, to jump from topic to topic, the class learned about guns, germs, and steel, which talks about those topics and their development/evolution with time. The class also learned about time periods, like the enlightenment period, the causes and effects, negative and positive, that followed. The class also learned about important historical figures, like Queen Catherine I, or Isaac Newton.
