The focus of my research was on the ruler Odegai Khan who ruled Mongolia from 1229 A.D to 1241 A.D. He was born in 1186 A.D and died in 1241 A.D. The regional area of my research was the Mongol Empire which at its peak stretched from the far eastern seas of Asia to the provinces of Western Europe. This ruler impacted his people by creating a permanent capital Karakorum so that his people could have an organized government. He also defeated their main rival of the Jin Chinese state as well as having victories over the Persians and the Western European states. The icon that I chose was the ancient capital of Karakorum and the Mongolian Bow as these were some of the major key things this ruler did to impact his people. This was giving an organized government and more victories using war to benefit his people. The leadership traits I chose for my leader was Honor, Dignity and Responsibility. I chose these traits because I think it was necessary for Odegai to uphold his honor and dignity as a ruler, as well as a responsibility to his people as a ruler.

For this Empire project, my group and I researched the empires in our geographical area, some of which were the Ghana and Mali empires. The geographical area of my research was West Africa. The leader I decided to research individually was Oba Ewuare. He was the king of Benin and ruled from 1440 - 1473. Although he was a brave king, Oba Ewuare was known for fighting against his own brother. Even though his intentions were good, this battle between him and his brother led to most of Benin being destroyed. The icons I decided to use were a picture of what the ancient city of Benin looked like at the time of his reign as well as a traditional Benin sword / weapon. I chose these icons to represent Oba Ewuare because the sword shows he was known for his fighting tactics and battles and the background shows what he was fighting for, which was his city. The leadership traits I decided to use that my leader exemplified were openness, creativity, and assertiveness. I chose these specific traits because Oba Ewuare was always open to his subjects and was also creative and observant when it came to battle / fighting for his people.

Khyren:
My group's empire we chose to research on was the country of Russia. Including the geographic area which took place in Russia. The leader I chose to research was Mikhail Fyodorovich (Michael). Michael was born on July 22, 1596 and unfortunately passed away on July 23, 1645. Michael reigned from 1613-1645 and was indeed, the first Russian Tsar of The House of Romanov. In fact, he was the Founder of the Romanov Dynasty. The Romanov Dynasty was important because it played a huge role of having major European power. Sadly, the house later stopped by 1917. One icon I chose for Michael was a poster of the people who are in the Romanov Dynasty because that is what made Michael successful and also strengthened their empire and gave them absolute power. The second icon I chose for him was the capital building of Russia because that's where everything started. The leadership traits I gave Michael was Vision, Follow through, and Persuasive. I gave him that because Michael was someone who knew what to do ahead of time to help his people out and he would always follow through with his missions.

Kapono:
The leader I researched was Genghis Khan, was the founder of the Mongol Empire which he would rule from 1206 CE until his death in 1227 CE. Born in Temujin, he acquired the title of Genghis Khan, and after unifying the Mongol tribes, he attacked the Xi Xia and Jin states and then Song China. In the other direction, his fast moving armies invaded Persia, Afghanistan, and even Russia. Extremely ruthless with his enemies, countless innocents were killed in his campaigns of horror. Genghis Khan was an able administrator who introduced writing to the Mongols, created their first law code, promoted trade and permitted all religions to be freely practiced anywhere in the Mongol world in this way, Genghis Khan built the foundation of an empire which would, under his successors, ultimately control one-fifth of the world. The icon that I chose was Don Keʻala Kawaʻauhau Jr who was the MC of the first big Hawaiian rap group called Sudden Rush. I chose Don Keʻala Kawauʻhau Jr because I didnʻt know who he was before I started to research him, all I knew was he was a Hawaiian rapper from back in the day, so I thought it would be interesting to learn more about him. Some of the leadership terms my leader exemplified was accepting because he let anyone believe in their own religion and he wasn't hard on the beliefs of his people.
