The Kahiau project is something that helps make connections between historical events and current issues we face because it is something that had a big impact globally back then and it even has a bigger impact now. Yes I would use this experience as a graduation capstone project as a junior or senior because it's something that people donʻt often think about but current issues are very important. Current issues can be better handled if we take action today. Zero hunger which is the UN Sustainability Goal my group and I choose was very big is past years but even now more so than ever it is a huge issue that happens globally and by addressing this problem to others can change their mindsetʻs and take action to make a difference. In Argentina since the very beginning of the 21st century poverty grew from a total population of 2.5 million people to 8 million people in 2019 which is almost 20% of Argentinaʻs total population. Hunger, poverty, and homelessness was big back then in history and is even bigger in modern day. Changing poepleʻs mindset that donʻt care about making a difference in their communities as an experience on a project that I did as a Sophomore when Iʻm a Junior or Senior.
What I have gained in this Hybrid Blended environment of Flipped Lectures & Project Based actions about learning and understanding World History through a Hawaiian/Indegenous Culture Based Education lens using our Hawaiian cultural understanding such as ʻaina, ike kupuna - ancestral knowledge Hawaiian world view, the vision on which I stand, aloha aina - patriotism, kupono - fair, just, malama & kuleana, alakai lawelawe - visionary, kulia - strive to be the best in a Flipped/Project Based Learning curriculum is new knowledge about world history that I never knew. In all the Flipped Lectures & Project Based actions it was about world history from the the beginning of time to modern day. Through a Hawaiian lens I have gained the true definition of ʻaina and the importance of kupuna and how we as ʻohana affect the many decisions that happen in our community, kupono having a vision of a better Hawaiʻi and taking care of kuleana to get there and kulia to strive to be the best Hawaiʻi. In the latest flipped lecture that we did, which was the Cold War it was a lecture about the history of the war from start to finish and was one of the last major wars that happen to our modern world and was a explanation of how the war affected the main countries involved and the world. Through a Hybrid Blended environment of Flipped Lectures & Project Based actions I have gained a better idea of world history. And through a Hawaiian lens gaining the true definition of ʻaina and the many things that make up ʻaina helps me get a better idea of being Hawaiian and the history behind Hawaiʻi.

Yes there are common themes that can be applied when we consider Maiau Quality, a Hard Work Ethic, and the kuleana of leadership to our ʻohana, communities, and lāhui. A common theme could be the theme of Responsibility. Responsibility applies to the amount of work you put into the assignment in that you are responsible enough to take the time to make sure your work in Maiau. You could be doing an assignment and not care about the quality of your work and just doing the assignment to get it over with or you can be responsible and take that extra time to proofread your work and double check for any errors and that applies to Maiau work.
The idea of self-efficacy through advocacy is something that I might find valuable for the future because I believe in success and I support myself. Self-efficacy is believing in yourself or someone elseʻs abilities to achieve success and advocacy is the support system you have behind yourself or that person. An example of this is having confidence in yourself and willing to put your best foot forward to be in the best spot possible to be successful and having a support system like loved ones and friends can help you get there.
I feel like learning the skills for creating my iLeader project was worthwhile because I got to learn many new things. I learned about the Hawaiian leader and world leader that I chose and how to first photoshop and illustrator which helped me build my learning skills about these amazing leaders. An example of this would be my Hawaiian leader Jon Osorio. I knew nothing about Jon when I picked him but learning about his life and his passion for music helped me develop skills to learn about his life.
