Sustainability plays a big factor especially in todays way of life. Because of Covid-19 a lot of people weren't able to work. This means they arenʻt able to make any money so they canʻt pay for essential things such as food or rent. This is a huge problem right now and it needs to be fixed. But that is where sustainability can help. If Hawaii was 100% sustainable then we could fully isolate ourselves from the rest world in order to make sure no one could spread it to Hawaii. If we were fully sustainable it would also allow us to help everyone in need because we would have the food to do so. Those were just some of the many benefits of going fully sustainable and how sustainability plays such a big factor in todays way of life.

I personally think the Scientific Advancements that were made in the name of technology was not worth the cost to humanity. There were many deaths because of the destruction they caused. Just in WW2 alone because of these advancements around 75 million people died. Which in 1940 was 3% of the worlds population. I donʻt get how any person who created advancements could understand how much people died because of their creation. So no, the scientific Advancements made in WW1 & 2 that were made in the name of technology was not worth the gain for the cost of humanity.
New technologies played a big part in WW2 just as they do now. In WW2 some of these new technologies were chemical warfare, new and improved weaponry, advanced vehicles and many more things. These things played huge parts in WW2 because each technology made many more strategies in warfare. New technology impact Hawaii today because of what you can do with each technology. Just like in WW2 each technology allows us to do new and different things. This plays into sustainability because if new technology comes out that helps us become more sustainable then it will be that much easier. But if technology comes out that makes us less sustainable then we would have to do more in order to change.I think the main factor that would make nations set up for wars would be the amount of resources, whether thats the amount of people or the amount of food. Nations have to know how much resources they have or how much resources they need. If nations need resources then that would cause them to figure out ways to get more resources. This might include asking other countries or going into war with other countries in order to get more resources. This connects to being sustainable because when you are sustainable then you know you have enough resources in order to survive and you donʻt need anymore.
I agree that the modern world is a victim of the Malthusian Flux. For example, The Corona Virus could be the world reducing the human population with a disease in one of the world’s most populated areas. This is just one example of many other things that have happened in the world. Some other examples might be natural disasters such as fires, floods, or earthquakes. The fire in Paradise, California also could have been an example of the Malthusian Flux. These were just a few examples of how the modern world is a victim of the Malthusian Flux.
There are many skills that are needed to address both the big picture and the small picture of sustainability. Some of these skills include being able to lead a group of people, being able to listen to others, along with being able to decide what to do and when to do it. Being able to lead a group of people is very important to address and execute both the big picture and small picture of sustainability because a leader has to be able to help his people achieve their goals. This is similar to being able to listen to others because a leader should have their own ideas but also be open to other people’s ideas. The leader isn’t the only person that can have great ideas and a leader has to understand that. That connects to being able to decide on what to do because if you have a bunch of great ideas you have to be able to decide on which ideas are needed to be executed and which ideas are just ideas.
“I can calculate the motion of heavenly bodies, but not the madness of people.” - Isaac Newton. Isaac Newton discovered gravity which plays apart in rock wall building and allows it to happen. If it wasn't for gravity we wouldn't have fishponds.
