1. What progress have you made on your project in the last 2 weeks?
I have made some progress and have given some of my bags away. 2. Are there any Changes to the plan .. what specifically will be your next 3 steps for the month of February ? There are no changes to the plan and the next steps are to just keep making bags and giving them away. How is this project important to helping our local and global community?
It is important because we are helping people in my community. It also makes people more aware of the homeless community. How is my learning these particular leadership & technical skills of project management important to my future contribution to the Lāhui? It will help me make important decisions and help me continue to improve my Låhui. I've made some progress with my project. I have all my bags but I have yet to go out and give it to homeless people. Although I did volunteer at a homeless shelter to serve food.
Some actions that I need to do to be a progressive action-researcher is to go out in my community to get my project done. I really need to be more proactive in that aspect. So far we have no changes to our plan and I haven't accomplished much but I did get more materials and bags. Our project is Blessing bags. For this project we will go around our neighborhood and give out bags of essentials to the homeless. This is important because homelessness is a big problem in Hawaii and in the US.
What is our topic & Why is it important to do action-research on?
Our topic is homelessness and it is important to do research on it because it is a big problem in Hawaii. Who is our group & what at is are the steps we will execute for the Kahiau over the Winter break? Our group is blessing bags and we will create bags filled with essential items that homeless people might need. What have I found challenging about this project so far? I found that going up to people and giving them bags is challenging. What do I expect to learn / get out of this project? I expect to learn how to be a better person and how some people donʻt have as much as us and we should be grateful for everything we have. Who am I tapping for assistance in my community or at home to get this done? I am asking my parents for assistance because I need money and items to put into the bag. |
