Over the course of this year, I have found much of the content and information that we have learned in this class extremely valuable. The reason I find it so valuable is because much of the history that we have learned can also be connected to the things going on in the world today. I have been able to view today’s current events through a different lens and make connections that I wouldn’t have been able to make if I hadn’t taken this class. The contents of this class were also very interesting and intriguing. We were able to learn about certain parts of history that many people don’t know or forget about. Also, the skills that we learned in this class were very useful. For example, the writing process known as the PEEL paragraph was introduced to us this year. The PEEL paragraph consisted of four different parts; Thesis-point, Evidence, Evaluate your evidence, and linking it back to your main point. Through this process, we were able to learn how to create well written paragraphs that contained all of the necessary parts. Two new skills that I learned in this World History class that I can use in the other classes are being able to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. With Adobe Photoshop, I was able to learn how to crop certain things out of photos and make photos into pngs, which was really helpful, and probably my favorite thing about the software. Photoshop is probably my favorite out of the two because you can really express your creativity through the many tools that are given. With Adobe Illustrator, I was able to put together a cool collage of different pictures in order to make a poster for my World Leaders project. Being able to use these two apps will be extremely helpful for future classes because I now have more options when I create things for projects.
