In my Planet 911 PSA group Neshae, Kamahaʻo, Ikaika, and I worked hard to create a simple yet informative video regarding ocean pollution. We wanted our video to spotlight the extremely negative effects of ocean pollution, how it affects the environment, and how it eventually affects us. We also compared current oceanic environmental issues to how the worldʻs oceans used to be in the past, how our ancestors treated the land, and Hawaiian core values. I would say that collaboration isnʻt always easy. The biggest struggle my group faced was incorporating effective communication. Though our greatest research tool, only being able to use technology instead of in-person interaction often left members of our group unclear about what was going on. Despite our challenges, it was an intriguing learning experience as we all shared unique points of view and encounters. If I were to do this project again, I would try to ensure that we can communicate in a way that isn’t inconvenient or confusing. |

For the Planet 911 project, Jennae, Grace, and Xhayeani decided to focus on health and well-being in our PSA. Our slogan was, “Stick to your task, Wear your mask”, we chose this because especially with Covid-19 and how many lives this disease has affected, we wanted to remind people that it's important to be aware of your safety and health. This experience working on this collaborative project was definitely not easy for me and my group, especially since online learning has a huge effect on group projects. Even though we had some issues communicating and working together, we were able to complete this project. I think our project did not get submitted to the Planet911 competition because our video wasn’t the best and could’ve been better. On a second try, I would improve this project by putting more effort into making the PSA with quality work. |

The people in my group were Khyren, Christian, Leilani and PK. Our topic was about ocean pollution and we wanted to spread knowledge about ocean pollution in a way that was catchy and easy for people to remember. The slogan we chose was, “Turtles in plastic aren't very ecstatic!”. My experience with this project was good. Doing these sorts of things forces people who might not work together normally to find similarities in their beliefs and try to turn that into something. For me personally, I think that everyone had their own individual ideas of what the project should look like. This meant that it maybe did not come out as cohesive as it could have been. So next time I think that we should make it very clear what we want and why. |

The people in my group were Apuakea, Kapono and Kapono, our topic was Climate change and life below water. The point of our video was to educate people and show them that they can help! The experience with working in a collaborative group was great! Everyone contributed and did their part and I am very proud of the outcome. |
