Colonization affected many cultures in the world. So our kahiau project is connected to many other cultures in the world. It doesn't hurt our efforts because the more we spread the problem the more people will hop on the bandwagon to show other people about this problem. Imperialism changes our understanding of these things in history through the lens of our cultural history of language, culture, and activism because with language many of them have been lost or aren't used as much as their/our ancestors would. It affects culture because many traditions have been lost and this is all around the world we all are affected by this. This helps us navigate for the solution because we could find other answers from other people researching the same problem.

My hawaiian leader wasn't in an empire. He was located in Hawaii more specifically Oahu Hawaii. He was born on May 5, 1946. He died on March 17, 1978. He died trying to save a boat that had a leak and so Eddie tried to go to shore to find help but died in the process. Eddie Aikau was a big leader for his braveness and compassion. He was one of the best surfers and also was a lifeguard. The icon I chose for him is his surfboard because that's what he used to try and save the boat and the people on it. Also that's something he was known for, his surfing. I chose braveness because he was brave enough to leave and go and get help. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/9002748/eddie-aikau-lifeguard-surfer-google-doodle/#:~:text=Credit%3A%20eddieaikaufoundation.org-,What%20was%20his%20cause%20of%20death%3F,a%20bid%20to%20get%20help.
The Industrial Age and the Revolutions that occur because of it, like the French Revolution affected my kahiau Project because it gave us the technology to spread the awareness of poverty, although its already known in the world I think Hawaii is presumed as this happy place but we still have the bad stuff still in the world. So the Industrial Age let us improve our technology over the years to be able to showcase what’s going on like poverty. Understanding these things in history gives us the knowledge of what happened before in the past to let us learn from their mistakes and so we don’t do the same mistake again. Also we should continue to grow through everything like technology from what we learned in the past to improve it. This could help us navigate for a solution because we could figure out what worked and what didn’t work.
