The Kahiau project is something that helps to make connections between historical and current events we face because we are using cause and effect and critical thinking to figure out whether or not these events are able to affect these issues or have already. For example, the project helped to connect the idea that the World Wars could affect water issues in Asia because governments were often financially unstable because of how much money they spent to win the wars. This means that they may prioritize their money towards other resources to build up their defenses for the next war. Also the price of the water bill may go up so much that people canʻt afford it because these nations need ways to gain their money back and some of them may result in taxing. Connections like this help to bridge the gap between the past and present and help predict the future.
I donʻt know if I will use this experience as a graduation capstone project because of the pros and cons of choosing this being generally equal to each other. I am not 100% sure if I will use this yet because there may be other projects I choose instead of this one, it would just depend on the other projects I get the chance to do during my next three years here. This would be a good choice for me though because I put a lot of effort into this project and it shows some great work of mine. But I donʻt think that this project is the best work I have ever done because of the time restraints and the requirements for the video are also restricting because of the time limits and having certain information be included. Overall I may use this project for the capstone but I want to know what other options are available before making my decision. Through this Hybrid Blended environment of Flipped Lectures & Project Based actions about learning and understanding World History through a Hawaiian Culture Based Education to be the best in a Flipped/Project Based Learning curriculum I have gained the ability to see history through an unbiased lens and a Hawaiian lens, being able to learn on my own and be independent, and I have learned how to make different types of connections. Doing a Hybrid Blended environment helped me to see things through different lenses because I can learn about events from different perspectives. Viewing World War II from would be different from viewing it from an Asian perspective. Making connections to Hawaiʻi helped to see things from a Hawaiian perspective and how Hawaiʻi was affected because of history. So learning about these from different perspectives can help us understand others. This learning style has also helped to make me more independent because learning on my own allows me to learn at my own speed. I can ask questions in class if I have any and work on my own at home when class is not in session. This type of learning model has also helped me to develop making deep connections easier by taking facts and finding similarities or differences with other facts. From there I can pull opinions or conclusions from these facts. In conclusion, this learning model was able to help me to understand more from a Hawaiian perspective.

Summary
The summary of this article is that in India, the total amount of water is declining very fast, but there are 4 ways to try and help fix the problem. The 4 ways are policy, reforms, and governance, developing innovative financing structures, investor action, and community-based models. Policy, reforms, and governance refers to using the governments and policies to create ways to be more conservative with water and fixing problems through leaders of the government. Developing innovative financing structures is important because using the money they have correctly and effectively is important to use the money to get the most out of it. Investor action is having investors invest more money to help solve the problems. Community-based models are ways to specifically have people be able to get water in different ways while it is still cheap enough for them to afford (Vikas, Aiyer, Vikas, May 26 2021). All of these solutions can work and they can be effective but only if people take action to help solve the problem. Geography These articles relate to the geography theme, place. The relationship between these is the environment and habitat of India is one that makes it harder to find easy access to water. There are plenty of places in India that are drier so itʻs harder to find water than somewhere like Europe or North America that have more streams, rivers, and lakes. Also, thereʻs more people so the amount of water everyone can share will not go as far as if there was a smaller population. If there were less people then there would be more water for everyone to have to drink. Geography is important to this topic because it can dictate how the issue of not having enough water can be resolved. Geography is also important because having more natural places to get water can be beneficial so less people may have to travel to get water. Having places that allow for easy access to water will be able to help grow the economy more. Though this is of negative importance to this topic, India is a drier country with not a huge amount of areas to be able to pull water from, so this may help to expedite the process to make sure that the population wonʻt become dehydrated. But Indiaʻs government will have come up with a good solution because they can ruin the environment by trying to drill for water (Vikas, May 26 2021). But the good thing is that importing water from other countries can be an option especially because India is close to many countries who make a lot of exports, but it will hurt the economy because of the expenses. Overall, geography can be important to these issues coming up, while other countries wonʻt have this lack of water problem, they are going to have other problems that India doesnʻt have. Reaction These articles about India being in a state of needing to fix their water situation affects me, my state, the US, and the world. This affected me by making me feel worried about the future with this issue in India and how it will affect other countries in the future. It made me feel sympathetic towards those who donʻt have it as easy as I do and it made me not take things like access to water for granted. This issue can affect my community and the US because if there is a big water crisis in India and less people are able to make products to be exported then we will lose a valuable source of products like clothes and some foods. It can also affect these places because our country will want to make sure not to go down the same path of lacking water as them and will be able to make good decisions for long term purposes. They will get to learn from observing others to know what and what not to do. The entire world can learn from this by seeing the solutions that India is implementing and use that as an example for what they can do to solve their own water problems or know how to prevent it (Vikas, Aiyer, Vikas, May 26 2021). They can learn from others to know what the future can be for their countries if they donʻt act, so it will help get some countries to make changes to solidify a positive future. This article can affect anyone and everyone from all over the globe, no matter your situation or what you and your country want to do to act on this water crisis. Connection/Analysis This article connects to the World History theme, it challenges us to think outside the box, and to be creative because this article is about India coming up with different solutions for their clean water crisis. This article can be important to us because learning about these solutions India is trying to implement can give us our own ideas of what and what not to do and it can influence others' solutions to their own water problems (Vikas, Aiyer, Vikas, May 26 2021). The government had to be creative and come up with a bunch of different solutions because some of them might not be effective enough. Also, coming up with a bunch of unique solutions can help people find the best solution that can help the most people possible. If the government wasnʻt able to come up with creative solutions, then the problem could never be solved. Though the U.S. doesnʻt have many problems with having enough water, eventually this may become a problem so it would be important for us to observe what other countries did to solve their own problems. We will be able to learn from their mistakes or successes to come up with the most effective solution that fits our country. These solutions can be very helpful for us here in Hawaiʻi because we live on an island, so it may become a problem in the future to get clean water easily. Most of our water comes from the aquifer, which is basically a lot of freshwater located underneath our island. But the aquifer doesnʻt have an unlimited supply of water, and when we eventually use up that resource we will need to find other efficient ways to get freshwater. But learning about what India is doing can help influence our own solutions and what we can do to secure the future of our islands. Overall, this article is able to relate to and influence other countries around the world as well as the themes of world history. Citations: Namita Vikas, Sourajit Aiyer, & Cymroan Vikas. World Economic Forum. https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2021/05/4-ways- to-scale-up-finance-for-indias-water-sector/ The common themes that can apply when we consider Maiau Quality, a Hard Working Ethic, and the kuleana of leadership to our ʻohana, communities, and lāhui are to do your best, put your best foot forward. These qualities are all important to have in school and in the workforce after that. Doing your best and putting your best foot forward can be applied to quality work by making sure your work is done to the best of your ability and it's done when you are scheduled to finish it. For me this means that I work hard on the work and do the highest quality work for the amount of time that I am given to complete the work. An example of quality work is when I am working on my own art. I don’t have any due dates for it so I always make sure the quality of my work is the best it can be. Another example is with our Kahiau group project we have been working on in class. I always make sure that the quality of my work is the best it can be because my work can affect my partnerʻs grades and I wouldnʻt want to make their grades worse because I couldnʻt do the best I could. This can relate to working hard because when I work hard, the quality of my work is good and I can be proud of my work itself. But if I donʻt work to the best of my ability then that usually means that I didnʻt work hard enough to the point that I am satisfied with the amount of effort I put in. Putting your best foot forward will often lead to Maiau Quality work. Some more examples of when I work hard are in band, and in tennis because both of these activities have others counting on me. If I slack off by not practicing or listening to the teachers and coaches, then the rest of the team will suffer. Another example of this is with our Kahiau group project because I want to work the hardest I can to put my best foot forward for my group because I want to do my share of the work and not slack off which would cause troubles for the rest of the group. These qualities can relate to the kuleana of leadership to our ʻohana, communities, and lāhui because being a good leader and completing your responsibilities can lead to lifting all of these groups. An example for me is when I am helping out with the Kalalea board for band which is like the student council for band. When I complete my assignments of taking notes and proposing and voting on ideas, I am able to help elevate the fun the band has and the planning being as organized as possible. If I donʻt put my best foot forward then the notes I take may be bad and be missing key pieces of information, but doing my best allows the rest of the meetings to run smoothly and help keep all our documents organized. Another example is with our Kahiau group project because I want to do the best I can because other people from our community and around the world will be able to see the work I put out. So I want this to be of the highest quality of work I can put out. Putting your best foot forward and doing your best relates to Maiau Quality, working hard, and the kuleana of leadership to our ʻohana, communities, and lāhui and this concept can be interpreted and understood differently depending on who you ask these questions.
The idea of self-efficacy through advocacy is something that I find valuable for my future. Advocating for myself can help me enhance my skills of advocating and speaking to others about the issues I am advocating for. It can also be helpful because it will help teach me how to advertise well to let others know about the issue and it will help with my art skills. The skills of advocating for myself are important for me to learn for the future because this can help with my confidence with talking. Itʻs also important because knowing how to advertise well can be helpful for me to advertise my art in the future and through advocating I can practice my art as a way to advocate. Doing this will allow me to practice my art while talking about things I want to talk about which will be helpful in many ways in the future. In the future I will be able to use these skills if I do decide to advocate for different problems around the world or with my artwork that I want to share with the world.
I think that the skills I learned for creating my iLeader Project were worthwhile but not the most important thing for me to learn. It was helpful to learn how to use Photoshop and Illustrator, however I could always learn how to use these resources on my own time so I found it to be time consuming. This is partially because I like to create my own art through drawing or painting, so I would rather prefer to do this on my own time because then I can create what I want to create. It was helpful to learn more about researching and finding credible sources to pull information from. This is a skill that I will be able to use in the future for research papers or essays. This skill will be important for me to use in high school, and college, to prove that the information that I am giving is credible and correct. Overall, the skills I learned during this project will help me in the future even though I think that some of them will be more useful than others.
