The work/learning from World History is very valuable and interesting. I didnʻt just learn facts and information but I learned skills that I can use later on in life, like photoshop. Something I felt was valuable was learning how to use photoshop and learning about WWI and WWII. I believe learning how to use photoshop was valuable because as we start to use technology more in our lives apps like photoshop are things you will need to know. Learning about WWI and WWII was valuable to me because I got to learn all the atrocities in these wars. I got to see what evil humans are capable of and how we would never want anymore wars. All in all World History was a very interesting and informative class. I will use the things I learned in this class to help me out in the future.
The Kahiau project is something that helps to make connections between historical and current events. In the Kahiau project we did research about gender equality in past Europe and gender equality in present Europe. Doing this really helped in making connections with past and current events. I would use this project as a graduation capstone project because the Kahiau project was very original and there is nothing like it. How I believe the Kahiau project could be better is adding another country to connect with Europe. The more connections you have between countries the better the Kahiau project will be.

Kain Tubania 15 July 2021 Current Event Final Dutch leader tells Hungary: If you don’t like LGBT rights, you can leave the E.U. By, Adam Taylor, Washington Post EU- Jun 25, 2021 Summary: Key points In the Washington Postʻs story about Dutch leaders telling Hungary to leave are the bill Hungry passed. Hungary passed a bill trying to combat child sex abuse. The law prohibits sharing content with minors that is deemed to be promoting sexual reassignment and gay sex. The EU is accuding Hungary of targeting gay, transgender and lesbian people. Hungary's leader Orbin states, “It’s not about homosexuals,” said Orban. “It’s about the rights of the kids and the parents.”(Taylor) Orbin denies this law targets LGBT but others in the EU donʻt believe him and are telling him he can leave if is targeting LGBT. The EU told Orbin he can leave if he doesnʻt want to accept LGBT rights and threatened to cut funding for Hungary. Also Hungary could be faced with legal challenges for the bill Orbin passed. There are mixed emotions from the leaders in the EU. The president of France Macron believes that Hungary shouldnʻt be removed from the EU. Irish prime minister Michael Martin believes that Hungary should be removed from the EU or at least punished. Martin said that Hungary has passed the line and it's the EUʻs job to protect Hungarians by the law. Geography theme: This article about friction between the Dutch and Hungary is related to the location theme for geography because Hungary is one location that people believe is violating LGBT rights. Why geography is important to this event is it can show us why LGBT rights are being violated in Hungary. Because of their location they could have different religious beliefs and a different way of life so we can use their geographic location to understand why these laws are being made and why they might be violating LGBT rights. Also the theme of location could relate to Hungary not having enough resources. According to the Washington post, “But critics argue it is far more than that and Hungary’s conservative faction is limiting LGBT rights to distract from the weakness of Orban’s pandemic response.” This can relate to location because maybe their location is playing a role in why Hungary's pandemic response is weak. If their location isnʻt good and they canʻt get resources or buy resources thatʻs maybe why their COVID response is weak. All in all geography does play a role in the friction between the EU and Hungary. Reaction: My thoughts on this topic is I think it's important because there is friction between two big leaders. My thoughts on this topic is that if Hungaryʻs leader is against LGBT that isnʻt good but you can relate this article back to the topic of religion. Certain religions believe certain things so maybe Orban feels this way because of his religion. I donʻt believe he is targeting the LGBT community because he states this, “It’s not about homosexuals, it’s about the rights of the kids and the parents.”(Taylor) Again he could just be saying this to try and please everyone, but I really donʻt think he meant any harm towards the LGBT community. I think as long as the people of Hungary can march and spread the word that this isnʻt right, things could possibly change. As long as the people of Hungary have the freedom of speech then they can say what they believe. How this article affects the world is it shows more heat is being created with Hungary and Europe when they already have had heat before. Also this is affecting the LGBT group of people in Hungary. If they too feel the law Orban is passing is discriminating against them they arenʻt going to be happy. Connection: This article relates to the French Revolution in World History because in the French Revolution people became upset like how they are in the article. In the article members of the EU are upset at Hungaryʻs leader, Orban because he introduced a bill that is designed to combat child sex abuse, but instead the EU thinks this bill is discriminating against the LGBT community. The EU threatened to kick Hungary out of the EU for this action. Because of the bill Hungary could face legal challenges at the EU and cuts in funding. This relates to the French Revolution because in the French revolution people were tired of being worked harder and taxed more so they retaliated and protested. Same with the article, Hungary passed a bill that the EU didnʻt like so the EU retaliated by threatening to kick Hungary out of the EU and cutting their funds. Itʻs not the same as a protest but is the same concept of reacting to a problem. Reference: Taylor, A. (2021, June 25). With maiau work itʻs work that is at the best of our ability. Maiau work should shock you and be great work. Hard work ethic is working hard and doing everything to the best of your ability. Kuleana of leadership is working hard, caring for our community and standing up for what is right in our community.
The most important theme to maiau work, hard work ethic and kuleana of leadership is hard work. A good student is a student that values their education, “if a child is to achieve success in education, they need to value education.”(Stade) This can relate to Maiau work quality, hard work ethic and kuleana of leadership because to be good at either one of these you must have respect and value your education. When you value your education this leads to you working harder which then improves everything you do. In conclusion, hard work and doing things to the best of your ability is what Maiau work, hard work ethic and leadership is all about. Self efficacy through advocacy is something that is very valuable for the future. It's valuable because you need to be able to express yourself, or you need to be able to share your thoughts with others. How I will use these skills in the future is I will be able to share what I think and tell others my opinions. If I have a job where I need to always discuss things with other people then this is very important.
