My main focus on this week was the building of the ships. I knew that the ship would take the longest to build so I wanted an entire week to just focus on it. I am trying to make my ship look as realistic as possible. In my screenshots for this week I showed the bare ship structure and then the addition of detail. This is just to show the difference that the little details can make. I am very happy with what I have accomplished so far.
My next focus will be to fully complete the ship and put finishing details. I have started to put the finishing details on the ship with the railing and captains quarters. Within the quarters I put chests filled with some items that would usually be found within an explorers boat. I also made sure to have a compass and map in the contents of the chest as to include that as it was a vital tool of my explorer and of his time. I hope to have my world fully complete by the estimated due date.

I first started by creating the overall environment of my explorer. Vasco Da Gama lived in an area that was known as Portugal's "hilly" capital. So i first started by creating hills, as can be seen in the picture below. I then moved on to making the body of water as the town was in the mouth of a bay. I tried to incorporate as much as I could in this first story. The reason for the glow stone everywhere was for lighting, I had difficulties where bats would start to spawn due to the darkness of my room. Once i placed flowstone in every other block my room was fine. Knowing how limited my building space was, I then moved on to creating another story to my room so I can work on building a ship in water. The second level that I have in place is seen in the bottom picture. I will try to build a full model ship and then on the ship I will incorporate the chests that will also contains maps and compasses that were also vital in the world of my explorer. So far I am right on schedule to completing my world.
