Colonization sets up/impacts my Kahiau Project topic as we see it globally throughout our study of historybecause as colonization advances, so does science. Like I have said before, the industrial age set up the factories which is one of the big causes of climate change. The more colonization happened, the more profits they made. This hurts our modern efforts to meet these challenges. Humans are the cause of global warmings, and colonization helped humans more than anything else. M.H.D. (n.d.). Amazing isn’t it? No other animal on earth could do this." [Photograph]. Imgur.Com. https://m.imgur.com/gallery/qx0r5WV Imperialism changes our understanding in history through the lens of our cultural history of language, culture, and activism in the community because we learned the Native Peopleʻs cultures we donʻt know about donʻt exist. Imperialism uses power and force over the people, and the cultures weʻve heard about survived. We have no idea how much cultures didnʻt survive when another force was ruling over them. This happened in Hawaii, I learned that when you take away the language, you take away the culture. Imperialism has a bad effect, just take Hawaii for an example. We were taken illigally as a state by force, and even now 100+ years later, people are still mad and upset about it(as they should be). Imperialism just doesnʻt work. My group and I got Africa, and we focused on Egypt. We chose to study about Cleopatra instead of the Ancient Egypt pharaohs. I chose to compare Cleopatra to Pauahi. Cleopatra was the ruler of Egypt for some time and was the ruler when Rome was conquering all. She was smart and cunning and was a great leader for Egypt. She had to step up and make good decisions when her home was under attack by stronger forces and other empires. This is why I compared her to Bernice Pauahi Bishop because Pauahi was also a strong and a leader and was a woman just like Cleopatra. Pauahi declined the throne as she wanted to serve the people which was a selfless act.
