Colonization impacted my Kahiau Project Topic, Gender Equality, because in the past women did not have any rights to do most things. For example in Hawaiian History, females had to make the food, clean the place and make the clothes. The male gender got to fight, hunt and fish. Through this colonization it opened up many more opportunities for women to get jobs and a voice. Colonization may not have been the best thing but it did give females way more opportunities. Although I do feel like our ali'i could've handled it way differently which means we didn't need to be colonized.

I guess one way that the revolution impacts my kahiau project since our Goal was "Gender Equality", would be because there were no females in the war. Also because everything that had happened was influenced by men or the decision was made by men with no female input. https://www.theworldwar.org/learn/women I feel like understanding these things in our history can help us in Hawaiʻi because if we understand all of these mistakes then we can prevent them from happening again. Everything in our lives get affected by the choices we make and it is all up to us on what we choose. - https://www.gohawaii.com/hawaiian-culture - World History Themes Video we did in first quarter I learned that art can be show to highlight social concerns around the world by using poetry. I learned this from Dania. She uses her poetry skills to write out her feelings and then when she publishes it she makes sure that people aren't alone if they are going through the same thing. This is a great and effective way to get the word out because then people aren't afraid to speak out since they know someone else has been going through it too. The poem I created talks about one of the many rocks located at my safe space. Since this rock was inanimate I had to try and figure out what it feels and thinks. This was honestly not that easy. My safe space was the river by my house. Since where I live is very secluded I like going there since no one really knows that it exists. The reason why I chose a rock was because everything by the river, including the river, was animate and the assignment was to find an inanimate object. Works Cited:
