ʻĀina, Leadership, Sustainability
It can be argued that the leadership character traits of the leader of a group can affect the value system of a group of people because of the influence they have. If a leader is smart and wise then it will reflect on their community. When a leader knows how to use technology, resources, and materials for the good, the people will follow and support their strong leader. A leader that comes from a selfish point of view will rule their people with the wrong values and it will create a sour surrounding. But with a caring leader, like Pauahi, the love in the leader's heart will rub off on their people and the rest of the public will want to perpetuate the love. If you put a ruler that only has the mindset of conquering and never giving back then they will never learn to have a deeper level of care for their people.

Sources suggest that the leadership traits of the leader of a group can affect the value system of a group of people because of the influence they have. Every leader wants to refrain from world war. Unless of course they want to conquer all they have but when they know that the odds arent in their favor they wont start something they wont win. A wise leader wont put themselves, or their people at risk. Wise leaders will take what their kingdom has been through already and innovate with the new technology they have. Smart leaders want to have their cities and communities thrive together and work as a team to be strong. With a selfish leader, the kingdom may be put up to face poverty, colonization, and loss. A smart leader makes a smart and strong kingdom.

It can be argued that the resources and ʻāīna can be leveraged by a group leader in the middle ages. Leaders during the middle ages did a lot of experiments with their decisions. Some that led their kingdoms to victory and some that contributed to the destruction of their people. In the middle ages, they did not have the technology we have today so they relied on the skills of their leader, the management, and the community. They needed to come together to persevere as a kingdom utilizing the experience and there is where new ideas and technology began. The evolution of technology is what would decide either a win or loss in a battle or the perseverance of your community. This is because as technology evolved whichever leaders were able to make deals to gain the technology always had leverage on all others. During the middle ages some great inventions that were created were the start of gunpowder which led to stronger weapons along with vertical windmills to grind grain and water windmills to irrigate water which were great advancements for many in the middle ages.

It is vital that the resources/ʻāina be leveraged by a group leader in the middle ages because of the impact that theyʻll have in the future. This would be impacted by leadership character traits. This would be impacted by leadership character traits because like Johannes Gutenburg who created the printing press to be able to change the language. So that rather than only the latin knowing what the bible really says using that as an advantage or leverage against others will understand it equally. Connecting to the resources / ʻāina being leveraged by a group leader in the middle ages. We can relate that this would be impacted because leaders are a guide and their traits are what will decide a good or bad outcome especially in the middle ages.

Sources suggest that geography can impact the land and resources that a group controls. Geographic factors are vital to the success of a civilization. Based on where a group of people resides it predicts their success in the future. For example, for an economy to advance it depends solely on resources that the land can produce and through that, a people can evolve. When a civilization has an abundance of resources or valued resources there will be interest amongst others. Resources translate into trade, production of food, riches, etc. but that can also lead to conflict. However, conflict could start for many reasons with people from different geographic locations. Religion, political views, resources, and land are some of those reasons. Religion affects a civilization because that could cause interest or disagreement amongst their own people and others. Political views have the same effect.

The role that sustainability rights play in is to help civilizations expand and sustain themselves, in order to grow and evolve. And if those rights were changed then it could result in a change towards the growth and evolution within the civilization as a whole. For instance, in the article Environmental rights, it says that if resources are being treated in the such way its being used now, things will have to be changed as a whole. This means that we should start managing our resources finding a way to preserve them and use them in a way that doesnʻt harm the environment. So using sustainability rights we can find a way to help sustain and maintain our society as a whole.

The right to food, Clean water, sustainable shelter, and education. As civilization grows and evolves the environment will also evolve and change. The goal or what we want to achieve is meeting our present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. When using leverage as a civilization to grow and evolve there are assertive things that must be looked towards for evolution of civilization.
