My groups colonization topic is climate change. Colonization has impacted the worlds climate in many harmful ways. While colonizing many different parts of the world everyone made technological advancements. They made things like cars which used gas and caused pollution to go into the earths atmosphere. So overall, I would say that colonization has done more harm than good towards climate change.Imperialism has changed the way that tons of people around the world look and see things. People in todays world have such adverse and different views on things than people in the past. In Native Hawaiian culture we would have many Hawaiian practices going on everyday. But, in todays world us as Hawaiians donʻt do as much Hawaiian practices our ancestors would have wanted us to do. I donʻt think that it discourages us from solving problems here in Hawaiʻi, but I feel like it still has way more negatives than positives. https://images.app.goo.gl/C8JJKbywHywXmGtr6

During the French revolution there were many different classes/ranks that people were put in. Depending on wealth or strength in the community you would be put in a certain rank. This system was terminated and they say it is no longer in todays world, but I feel like we can still find some similarities. The first similarity I can see is, in todays world some people are judged by how much wealth they have. If you have less wealth then people think less of you if you have more then people think more of you. The same thing could be said about race. There are some people in the world who think some people are better or worse because of race. I feel like these things can relate to our Kahiau Project because of there wasnʻt a system like this in the world then people wouldnʻt need to go through things like inequality. By knowing these things in history I feel like it can help us here in Hawaiʻi. If we feel like we are ever going to go through a problem that was presented before in history we might know how to prevent that certain problem from happening. I also think that if the problem is already in action then we might already know ways to find a certain solution. As Hawaiians I feel like we all share a connection that not many other people in the world have. I think the we also care for people and we donʻt like to make people feel like they donʻt belong because it has happened to our race before. So knowing the history of Hawaiʻi I think we can help build up a great community that loves and cares for each other no matter what race, or how much race a certain person holds. Works Cited:

For example, art could be used to capture a certain moment in history and show all the beauty in that certain moment. I also think that art is very powerful because it shows the artist’s emotions. Another thing that I believe art can do is prove points in arguments. I think it can show how everyone seeʻs things from a different perspective.
