In this group, we had Akela, me, Micah, Scotty, and Dane. Our task was to make a 50 second PSA video on littering. The message that we were trying to send is that littering doesn’t only affect the land, it also affects the ocean. With this message we used the slogan, “Don’t be part of the pollution, be the solution.” The experience of doing collaboration work on zoom was weird because it was hard to communicate and be on the same page as your group. Our PSA didn’t make it to the 911 competition. I think it was because ours was just basic and simple. Next, time we should integrate more facts to be more convincing. |

Our groups mission was to make a PSA about the life in the water. The people in the group I was in were Logan, Micah, Dane, Scotty, and myself. Our topic was to bring awareness to everybody about the life in water and how the life in water is getting affected because of life on land. Working in a group during covid was hard because we didn’t get to go to school and work we just had to send in videos and we would just pull something together in iMovie. It didn’t get submitted to the planet911 competition because compared to others our video was junk but I believe that we did a super good job with the resources we had. I would improve it on the 2nd try by submitting better videos because the video I sent in wasn’t really that good. |

This project was made by me, Logan, Dane, Scotty, and Akela. We had to make a PSA about an environmental issue facing Hawai’i and the rest of the world. Our topic or issue that we focused on in our PSA was life in water. Our PSA was about how cleaning up after yourself and not littering could help save and protect sea life. Our slogan was “Be a part of the solution, not the pollution”. We chose this slogan because our goal was to show how littering ends up polluting our water and harming sea life. The experience was interesting. The collaboration part of this project was a little more difficult due to social distancing and having online class. Other than that setback, I feel that our group did okay with collaborating to create this PSA. I don’t think our project was submitted to the 911 competition. I think this was because our PSA didn’t really stand out much and I don’t feel like the message REALLY got to the viewers. I feel like we probably could have put more effort into that project to make it better, but it is what it is. If we were to do this again, I think we would definitely try to get better quality clips and try to make the overall tone and message of the video hit stronger and leave an impact. |
