I feel like the skills we learned was a worthwhile use of time. I think so because like I said in the video it will be useful when we have to make another poster-like thing for a project. I also feel like it is a very useful skill in the real world. In todays age everyone is on the internet so maybe it will come in handy sometime later too, not only in school. I really do feel like the skills we learned in class was worthwhile, I feel as if it will come in handy later, and it was also pretty interesting to see how photoshop and adobe work. Vlog #2: Reflection on My Progress7/01/21 I feel like self-efficacy through advocacy is something that is valuable to me for my future. I feel so because if I find myself being efficient through advocacy that could really see it being useful. I might be able to use this skill by maybe making art works like lee. I could also talk with other people that maybe know a lot more about a topic I have no Idea about. I feel like self-efficacy through advocacy could really come in handy later in my life. Even if it only helps a little it still better than nothing and it’s always good to know different skills. Vlog #3: Connecting Quality, Strong Work Ethic & Kuleana Leadership Some common themes I see when you apply these qualities are people that are very efficient with their work. Many times people who follow these qualities are often very much people who are cool to hang out with or just very reliable people. Some common themes from these qualities are also very focused people as well. They believe that everyone sees them as how well and how quality their work is. This also could be a bad thing though as they could get “addicted” to their work or maybe more obsessed. A really good example of this would be my Father. He really loves giving back to the community and he does this through his job. He works for a non profit organization that very much gives back to the community. He sometimes even stays over his shift. That's how much he loves his job. He loves his job so much that sometimes it seems a bit obsessive and over the top but hey you can’t get mad at him he’s doing what he thinks is right. Vlog #4: Poverty forces Lao children to drop out of schoolVlog #5: World History Reflection Working/learning throughout the course was interesting, valuable and added to my knowledge base. Some things I found valuable was when we went into groups in the breakout rooms. I thought this was valuable because it taught me how to work better with a group in a digital environment. It also kinda boosted my confidence because I got to better know the people in my group and it became a comfortable place after a while. Another thing I found valuable was the RYW speakers. They taught us about self advocacy, standing up for yourself and, to speak whatever is on your mind. One last thing I found valuable was working with and learning how to use all these new applications/tools. We learned how to use photoshop, illustrator, quicktime, and illustrator which i'm sure in this day and age will be useful later on.
The Kahiau project is definitely a project that helps connect historical and current events. The whole focus around the Kahiau project was to actually do this. We learned about current leaders and history and learned about them. Then we compared them and brought up some similarities. Which was a pretty strong connection I feel. The Kahiau project also made us learn about the events in the past and in the current times. I think it is likely I will use this experience in my graduation capstone project but I'm not really sure as it matters what the project is about. I feel like the connection could be better if we just connected more things. My group was mainly focused around poverty so of course we researched a lot about the effects of poverty today and back then. I would say that the Kahiau project could be a bit more broad with what we learn about in the past and the present. Other than that I feel that the connection between the two was pretty strong.
