It was planned that we were going to plan a Meals on Wheels and help with the elderly getting food. We wanted to partake in this because none of us couldn’t drive yet. We were planning on helping the drivers and make deliveries for them while they drive to the certain houses we had to go through. We were also going to help with the food packing part. We would then help pack food in the individual container and ship them off to the runners. We actually made contact with the company that would help us get in touch with our “bosses”. We sent a message out to the company and asked if they could possibly communicate back to us the day of the World History Final. We were all planning on fulfilling our plans and making sure we can all set a date so we can all make it to the location. This all hit the fan during the span of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day because we were all surprised. We all went on trips off-island and we could not perform the plan that we were conjuring up. We all did our separate parts of community services with our respected locations. It went well because our trips helped us see the different communities around the world. I think that we could have communicated with each other better. Our application is that we improved our leadership skills throughout our individual trips. The challenge that we attempt to challenge hunger with the homeless by volunteering with a food bank. Volunteering will help out the community and also meet and greet with other people with the same cause. This will help us reach out to other people and for Keola, this is a different kind of people and he will learn more about them. The service will impact the community because it will cut down on the amount of homelessness. People are normally scared of the amount of homeless people there are in the community. This will also help the families who haven’t seen their family members in a long time. Homeless people will also help inspire others that there is hope and a better life ahead of them if they put in the work. Colonialism is a big propelling factor of our problem because there are too many people living in our world and poverty is a direct result of that. Imperialism is also a very big factor of poverty because of the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom. The hawaiian Kingdom was already its own country when they overthrew us and created less and less space for the native Hawaiian people.
