Can the Leadership character traits of the leader of a group affect the Value System of a group of people? How?
It is vital that the leadership character traits of the leader of a group affect the value system of a group of people by having an influence on how their group of people behave and the values that they have. Value systems pretty much drive and influence how people think, what they do, and what they believe in. For instance, Pauahi was a Hawaiian princess who was kind to her friends, family, and the people of Hawaii. Her kindness and hospitality towards the people she met and knew influenced how the people of Hawaii acted, which drived the Hawaiians in our civilizations to have kind behavior. Hawaiians show kindness and hospitality towards others. That is why Hawaiians have no hesitation when it comes to sharing resources from farming/agriculture or other things with the people around them.

Our personality traits and our belief in sharing with others and being kind towards others is not only from Pauahi, but from all of our Hawaiian leaders throughout the years. This just shows how much a leader can affect their people and how they think, behave, and the values that they have. It also showcases the power that leaders have and explains why they have to be a good role model and show good social skills in front of their people. It is clear that the leadership character traits of the leader of a group affect the value system of a group of people by having an influence on what their group of people believe in and how they behave.

How can the Resources / ʻĀina be leveraged by a group
leader in the Middle Ages? Would this be impacted by leadership character traits? How?
As we know, leaders would be as productive as possible with the resources they are provided with. Leaders would use their resources as best as they could, an example of this is Mansa Musa and how he used gold to trade and make his country rich and in power. Mansa Musa was the richest man of all time because of his gold trade. This means that Mansa Musa used his thinking and his trading skills to trade his resources for riches.
|
It can be argued that trading and the use of resources were influenced by the leaders and their character traits. Mansa Musa was a smart man with a visioned future and knew how he was going to use his surplus in gold and other materials to his advantage. “His riches came from mining significant salt and gold deposits in the Mali Kingdom. Elephant ivory was another major source of wealth” This quote shows that Mansa Musa used his trading skills to trade the right materials to people for more riches.

How can Geography impact the Resources/ ʻĀina a group controls? does this impact the way a Civilization evolves and behaves towards other groups? How/Why?
It can be argued that geography can impact the resources/ ʻāina a group controls. For example, for Martin Luther King & Cathlolic reform from the Protest and Reform Religion slides, the land that he stood on with his church was controlled by white based officials/laws where they pushed for slavery. From the blacks to whites, only because of their skin color, the whites created a “theory” that their skin color was superior, that nobody should want to be black.

This made the white treat them brutally, blacks were being killed, they picked on them–whilst Martin Luther decided to rebel and stand up for not only him but for his entire black community. White people despised and hated him, but he didnʻt listen because this wasnʻt right. He came up with his own religion; Catholic reform where pThis shows and proves that it does in fact impact the way other civilizations evolve and behave toward other groups like Martin Luther King. From this it can be concluded that, the land has a huge impact on the way civilizations evolve and behave towards each other.

What role would the Sustainability Rights play in leveraging such resources as Civilizations grow and evolve?
It can be argued that the Sustainability rights play a large role in bringing various resources to life. For example, according to FL#1 (Ancient Civilizations), it states, “The characteristics of civilizations include: Cities, Central governments and law codes, Writing and Record-keeping, Specialized Jobs, Social Classes, Complex Technologies, Organized Religions, and Public Works.” From this, it can be concluded that the SDGʻs help to bring these resources to life, by bringing people together to achieve a common level of success across all areas.

Possessing sustainability rights allows for all people involved to have an equal playing field, and remain somewhat peaceful/content with the resources they already have access to. As civilizations continue to grow and evolve over time, people may not remain as content with what they have, and resources will become a lot more difficult to afford. As a result of this growth and expansion, there is a lot more opportunity for problems to arise in the future. These types of problems can be detrimental to an organization. This is how the SDGʻs play a role in bringing such resources to life.
