I think the projects have impacted my leadership growth the most this year. This is because in these projects I have had to do things by myself but also help others at the same time. In specific I am talking about the Kahiau Project. Even in my own group I often feel as though I am the one doing most of the work and getting everything together. This has not only taught me leadership but also patience. Something that has motivated me for personal reasons is just wanting to do good in this class because I feel like it will benefit me in the future. I also just want to do good in school this year because I want to be proud of myself in the end, even if it is a lot of work in the moment. But I know that everything will be worth it in the end. In order to stop pollution in Hawaiʻi we all need to stop it. This will take a lot of responsibility on our part though because we canʻt be lazy. I feel like the main reason littering is a big problem in Hawaiʻi is because we are lazy. We will also have to take initiative if we want to advertise the problem to the public so we can solve it. In the big picture, I think that people during that time shouldʻve problem solved more. This is because if the population was rising then maybe people shouldʻve went to other places to gather more materials so the resources wouldnʻt disappear. They also couldʻve tried to fix the problem by rations possibly. The “War to End All Wars” does not live up to its name. There was another war a few decades after it ended, and actually if anything it made matters worse. We can see a lot of the war impacts still today. For example our environment is still suffering from the Malthusian Flux theory, especially in Hawaii. Regarding the Malthusian Flux, I think that we still are a victim of this today. The Malthusian Flux theory states that if the population grows too fast our natural resources will deplete which will result in widespread poverty. Especially because Hawaiʻi is so over crowded we can see our environment suffering from it. This treaty was extremely important because it determined who the land was going to. This document set the world up for WWII because everyone was not agreeing with one another which was why the war started in the first place. This impacted the Pacific because of the geography of the land. The top technology that helped win WWII was the radar. Although this wasnʻt an actual weapon it helped people communicate to each other. It used radio waves to detect other aircrafts and this of course was a huge help. The British were the first people to use the radar and they used it against the Germans in the battle of Britain. The ethical atrocities were human experimentation which was horrible but the US didnʻt really play a part in it. But on the other hand they didnʻt do anything to stop it either which doesnʻt reflect well on them. Vietnam, Korea, and the US were the 3 main hotspots. Each nation had different beliefs and the US was trying to conquer each nation and stop the spread of communism. Because of this each nation had small wars with each other and it all contributed to the cold war.
The WW1 or the War to end all wars never really ended. It was the main reason that all the other wars followed, so it actually did the opposite of what it was intended to do. When we think of Hawaiian native ʻike we were a socialism community. Our kupuna shared everything as a community and no one really kept things to themselves. This could be seen as a threat to the US because it doesnʻt fall in line with capitalism which is where it is one man for themselves and resources arenʻt shared but kept for themselves.
