In my personal opinion the information we learned this year in Kumu Akanaʻs World History class was important. The information given to us is important because it allows us to connect the dots in history so we don't repeat the same mistakes. To lead the future leaders of the world in the right direction. We were also taught why history was so important; I mean it's obvious why knowing history is important, but why? This question was given to us and expanded our minds so we would dig deeper. We were given information from the ancient history of great leaders, to the recent history of our grandparents. All this information is set out in front of us so we can learn from our mistakes and become the better leaders of tomorrow. Two sort of new skills that I learned were the P.E.E.L formatting, and photoshop/illustrator. Kumu Akanaʻs class taught us the P.E.E.L formatting for our papers; this formatting is effective and nice, it allows us to gather our thoughts and type it out with a clear thesis. The P.E.E.L formatting is effective because it has already been laid out, all you need to do is just punch in your information and line it up with your main idea. I also learned how to use Photoshop a bit more, I already knew how to make dumb memes and edited images to make fun of things, but now I did it for academic use instead of memes. In this class an interesting topic that I learned was world war two. I didn't know much about world war two other than Hitler, now I know about the other side of the world war and how world wars start. We went in depth on how Colonialism, Imperialism, and Socialism impacted people which led to wars. This information was important to understand the history of the world and causes of wars.
