I think that this was a successful project and that it made a difference in the community. Even though we only donated a small amount of money and cleaned a small area in comparison to the entire island I feel that we did what we set out to do. I feel like this relates to being a global citizen because we did the project to help others in the community and make the world better. I connected our project to the people who shared about plastic bags and how big an impact they have on our environment. A large amount of the trash we picked up would probably go into the ocean and harm marine life. I feel like a long term plan is needed so that you donʻt procrastinate and actually get the action and change you want in the community.

Up to this point we have done that park clean-ups and are still gathering donations. We plan to give the donations to the Cancer Center of Hawaii on April 29. So, currently we are still asking people for donations and hoping to get about $100 to donate by the date. I feel like the project is going as we planned. Also, we are now working on the other work components of the project.
We did our park clean-ups in February and are now just collecting donations from people. We have got some donations from family and friends. We are looking to collect about $100 to donate to the Cancer Center of Hawaii. I feel like the park clean-up were successful and that it makes the parks seem way more inviting than if there is trash laying around. So far the project has been going well and I feel like it has a made a difference.
This week my partner and I have started to ask family and community members for donations and if they could come out to help clean up the two locations we chose. We will be cleaning up both parks February 12th or 19th. We are currently on schedule to complete the cleanups and get donations by the end of February. We are also planning to recycle any recyclable and donate that money along with the donations.
This week my partner and I chose the specific parks/beaches that we will be cleaning up. The two parks that we have currently chosen are Maili Beach Park and Kāneʻohe District Park. We are still gathering volunteers that can help to make cleaning the parks and beaches faster and more efficient. We also contacted the Cancer Center of Hawaii and told them about the project and the money we will be trying to raise. We are planning to do the clean ups on a weekend from mid to late February.
My names is Tanner Young and I am currently in 10th grade at Kamehameha schools. The project that my partner and I are doing is asking people from the community to come out and clean ups parks and beaches. We are also asking for donations thats will be given to the cancer center of Hawaii. The title of this project is "Clean up for Cancer." I feel that this project will have a good impact on the community by improving the public recreational areas for people to use and provide funds that will assist in the battle against cancer.
