What is our topic & Why is it important to do action-research on?
Our topic is clean water and this is important because living in Hawaii a main food source is fish. We are surrounded by the ocean. This is important because we already have to battle over fishing. So by keeping the water clean we can prevent less fish dying from eating trash. Who is our group & what at is are the steps we will execute for the Kahiau over the Winter break? Our group is myself, Josh, Devin, and braden. Over the break we are going to go to one of the community beach clean ups. What have I found challenging about this project so far? What I found challenging is working on our site because only 1 person can go on the site at a time. What do I expect to learn / get out of this project? I expect to learn how much trash there is on a beach. I also want to make a difference in the community. By doing this I want to see less fish with trash in their stomachs. Who am I tapping for assistance in my community or at home to get this done? I am going to need a ride to the beach and picked up from there, by my parents or my sisters.

Living in a Hawaii you just got a natural connection with the ocean. I don't know one person that doesn't like the beach that lives in Hawaii. The beaches are starting to get more polluted. Sometimes it's because of things that wash up and shore from hurricanes and tsunamis, and sometimes it's because people get lazy and donʻt throw away their trash. What ever the reason may be I want to clean up the beaches for our future generations. I enjoy the beach so much that I don't want it to get trashed and my kid's kids don't get to experience what I got to experience. The beach is a part of our lāhui, we need to take care of it.
