Do you agree that the modern world is indeed a victim of the Malthusian Flux? If so, explain How? If not, explain why? I believe that the world did fall victim to the Malthusian Flux. The Malthusian Theory of Population is a theory of exponential population growth and arithmetic food supply growth. I think it did fall victim because our world today is still fighting what has been fought since the beginning of time. Modern times have become more sophisticated and advanced, not in our benefit. Also, the Malthusian channel by which a high level of population reduces income per capita is still relevant in poor developing countries that have large rural populations dependent on agriculture, as well as in countries that are heavily reliant on mineral or energy exports. |
