My group’s plan was to go to a beach clean up at Awāwāmalu with the 808 Clean Ups Organization. We had scheduled it to be on December 29th. What ended up happening was I got a surprise ticket up to Hilo to visit my friend as a Christmas present and the trip lasted from the 25th to the 31st of December. Nicole was able to go to the cleanup and take pictures for our group and interview the head guy that was running the cleanup. It would have been better if I and Nanea could’ve been there also to participate but we’ll just have to find another clean up to go to. I feel like pollution is being more noticed because people are standing up more for the planet and social media is also playing a big role in bringing awareness to this subject. When I do a beach clean up, I do believe that I will directly be helping with pollution especially on our own island, which gets affected the most by pollution.
