Colonization is a big part of out history, and where we come from, and how it shapes the future. It was how the many different colonizers would discover and find new land, they would expand and gain more space, so that their empires, or their kingdoms could expand, and they would have more money, more power, more resources. So how this sets up or impacts our Kahiau Project topic, which is education, is that it allows us to educate and kind of colonize, but with education. We are using media, and education to reach out to the many people that are seeking knowledge and want to know more about the pressing issues in the world. Just like Captain James Cook, who we donʻt completely like, did bring a lot of things to Hawaiʻi when he first got here, such as metals, nails, and many useful things that could be used by the Hawaiian people, although we didnʻt really need. So how this relates to our Kahiau Project topic, is because we are colonizes our knowledge, and our education to other people and students. I think that this helps modern efforts to meet these challenges because itʻs a very efficient and easy way to help the people to are uneducated, and should know about the important issues in the world.Blakemore,E.(2021,May3).Colonialismfactsandinformation.dCulture. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/culture/article/colonialism. How imperialism changes our understanding of these things in history through the lens of cultural history of language, culture, and activism in the community is because it shows us how we have to see things in a different perspective, such as a ruler, or someone is is the leader or king of an empire. Each culture, language, and empire may be different in their own way, and so they may want many different things, and so it change the way that we have to understand how a ruler would utilize their language and culture, and their activism in their community, in order to be a better and more powerful ruler.
