I didn't get to play Minecraft this week because the teacher didn't set it up for us, so I don't know what to write about. But before this week, I was able to build one of the more bigger projects that I thought would have taken a longer time. I built Hernando Cortes' boat used to sail from Cuba to Mexico. I dug down in the ground and made a make-shift ocean next to Mexico. I still need to do finishing details on the boat to make it look more presentable and more true to the original boat used by my explorer. I'm happy that I finished this because it would have taken me a longer time.

1. He was a Spanish conquistador who overthrew the Aztec empire and won Mexico for the crown of Spain.
2. He strategically aligned some native peoples against others to overthrow them. 3. He first set sail to the New World at the age of 19. Cortés later joined an expedition to Cuba. 4. King Charles I appointed him governor of New Spain in 1522. 5. He spent much of his later years seeking recognition for his achievements and support from the Spanish royal court. Cortés died in Spain in 1547. It has been difficult working with this technology because I am new to it. It is fun but frustrating. I've been kind of figuring out all the controls on my own by trying things and seeing if they work. Some challenges learning to use is that because I was new, I didn't know what to expect so it was hard at first adjusting to all the new things. It was kind of easy to make an aztec temple, since it is sort of an easy geometric structure. |
