Globalization is happening in Hawaiʻi, examples of this is when people who are not natives come here and bring their businesses and their customs. When they do this they are planting their businesses on our island and settling, meaning they stay here longer than expected. This leads to us adapting to their customs and changing the way we live. This is something to consider because there are people that I know who adapt to the way that these non-natives live. They no longer carry on with things that have been tradition, they change their ways. Learning about imperialization and globalization has changed my understanding of the impact that it has on the world because we see it everyday, we no longer carry out with how we used to do things. We learn easier ways to do things and we suddenly forget what we have been taught. Although some helps us in a good way not all the time is change necessary. My group project is a worthwhile challenge that needs to be addressed because it has been a problem for a while now, and if we donʻt do anything to stop it then it will never change and it will continue to grow and create more problems. Which at this point in time is unnecessary because there are bigger issues that need attention and taken care of. Once this issue is solved then all the focus can go to issues and topics that need all the attention it can get. |
