The most important connection between World History and current event advocacy is that by learning about the past we are able to make changes today. Without learning about the past we wouldn’t be able to remember what we need to advocate change for in the first place. Everything is connected through history and it gives us an idea of what we should change and what we should keep the same. World history gives us an understanding of how the world came to be and shows us how we are different from others. We can use this to make changes peacefully and make equality. The most impactful idea that I have gained through our guest speakers about the importance of media advocacy is how we are able to change the world in our own ways. Media advocacy requires evidence, research, and mastery of the topic at hand. Our guest speakers have taught us that it’s possible to make changes through things such as movies and documentaries. Our generation is based around technology so we could use that to our advantage to advocate for a better future. Everything can change because we have the power to voice our opinions through technology and media. APA Citations
