Goal #1: End all poverty in all forms everywhere
The goal we chose to connect our kahiau project to is goal number one. It is the goal to end poverty everywhere. By ending poverty we can help those in need. This relates to homelessness because people in poverty sometimes don't come back up and they end up on the streets or doing bad things for money

For my groups community service we all had different plans. Piper went on a trip, Ethan stayed on Oʻahu and I went home, to Big Island. We planned to accomplish our own forms and videos for this project. When we discussed today in class, we discovered that none of us actually completed our parts. I spent most of my break at home because my works Tuesday through Saturday and she wasn’t feeling well. The break went by really fast and by the time I thought about the project, I had no free time or rides to get to places where I could volunteer. Overall, the planning we did went well. It seemed like we had it figured out. I think what my group could improve on is completion of the project. We all fell short on our parts and we need to work on finding ways to accomplish the community service. Hopefully, within this month we will be able to do some form of community service. I plan to help out with the Penny carnival that gives back to organizations. I believe that this project has helped expand everyone’s understanding of poverty and issues of humanity. This project requires us to research and understand other people’s issues and challenges that they face. My leadership skills and comprehension of these skills have improved. We were able to connect this project becak to skills and why they are important for those in charge. Over this break I displayed bad leadership skills by not completing my work. It’s important for leaders to complete their work and responsibilities. |
