We will be conducting the project on Saturday, April 29th in Kaimuki, We figured this would be a good idea because of how crowded then town is and how close the town is so they would support it. All of the clothes we gather will be donated to GoodWill Kaimuki and to Next Step Shelter in Kaka'ako. Our project connects to being a global citizen because our project is to help all people in need of clothes, shoes and other items that are necessary to survive. We don't want people to feel like that one kid in elementary school who felt left out because his family couldn't afford the cool transformer backpack or the new light up velcro sketchers. Everyone deserves to have clothes and not face the public shame of "looking homeless". Our project is also to help lower stereotypes on homeless people. Maybe giving them nice clothes will help them get a job and become self-sustainable again.

Once again our project has to change. We finally got an answer from the park manager and state and basically we couldn't do it. So we are now changing our project to a clothes drive. We want to help the homeless populous have shirt on their back and shoes on their feet. We are looking to donate to the homeless shelters in town and are looking to make a difference and see more homeless clothes neatly and nicely so maybe they can get a job and start a new life. So far we have been absorbing the lessons in class and those lessons helped us decide to do this project instead. Over the next couple weeks we will be collecting donations and by the end of April will be giving all the donations to the homeless center in town.
