A problem in Mexico is air pollution. Air pollution is a large and growing concern for Mexico City. Experts have said that Mexico City’s air pollution has gone from one of the cleanest in the world to one of the worst in the world in the span of a generation. Air pollution causes around 14,000 deaths per year. There are many causes to this pollution. It is said that there are three major reasons for the pollution. They are the large number of vehicles, rapid industrialization, and bad geographical location. There is a large population of people in Mexico, roughly 127.5 million people. Due to this they are quite overcrowded and about 75% of the population leans on cars to travel. This releases many harmful gasses into the skies. These gasses heavily contribute to pollution and climate change. This pertains to us because we are struggling with pollution here in Hawaii.
